Rules Discussion / Re: Siren House Rule Playtesting

i think that adding curses to her clearly improves her, but I think it is something that should not be added to her training.

I think she should get same benefit as her familiar when in water. channel +1. perhaps armor +1. and try that out. I also think her equipment spawnpoint was overcosted. I also agree with puddnhead that harmonize enchantment should gain the song type.

I would further guess that she will improve as more sets get released. so better not to tweak her training just yet. perhaps later depending on new mages being released and see what those look like before training updates.

i want backward compatibility. i do know that if i cannot use things i paid for already in a new mage wars release, i will be really mad and not be buying any new stuff. but that is just my opinion. i can understand some card changes and rules cleanup. i would think that is pretty easy to do. looking forward to further updates.

indeed interesting. I am inclined to side with puddn on the reveal magic interaction.

It is a really strong play to qc a guard during first qc. and for the guard to have a defense is a huge bonus. an excellent idea and adds strength to the build. very well done sir.

wow man. who crapped in your cheerios? some of us like to be positive about life in general. and more so about this game. not sure why you feel you Have to put down any suggestion that something Could happen by those of us here who do want to look at the half full glass and hope for the best.

two products were released for this game this year.

and note that not all playtesters have the same knowledge to work from regarding process and plans.

to repeat: nothing official as yet either way.

or it could be that I may know things I cannot talk about too. not saying this is or is not the case, just that there is nothing official as yet.

General Discussion / Re: Pillar of Righteous Flame - Discussion
« on: November 21, 2019, 11:01:27 PM »
the pillar would still be strong if you did as davew suggested which came via farkas and victore as possible solutions which was to only let the enter zone attack happen if the opponent took an action that resulted in a move into the pillar zone. you would still have all the other benefits. I think that even if you removed the enter zone affect completely it would still get played by several mages.

if it did not have the enter zone portion of the spell, you could get max 24d (plus possible daze/burns) for 9 mana and 1 action.

currently I feel it is more comparable to back to back zone attacks generally affecting 4-6 creatures in many skill cast situations. the 42d example seems like really bad play on one players part where they overloaded a zone.

Spellbook Design and Construction / Re: Offerings to the Ghoul

it is interesting you posted this. we discussed kralathor over the weekend here and it occurred to me that the ghoul might also be a good way to do something similar. I had not gotten around to checking how the ghoul would work if it was in the kralathor book.
