Perhaps I'm misunderstanding this in the game, but don't Novice keyword spells already work this way?

I use the Monster card holders, which are similar to the UltraPro. They're $15, enough room to hold 2 mages worth of spells, the cards insert MUCH easier from the side of the pocket, and most importantly the pockets are diveded, making them completely useable from the front and back.

General Discussion / Re: Cards from the core set in the expansion?

I don't mind some of the repetition; it's just that many more cards in my aresenal and with the 4 and 6 card limits that means, my self being the sole provider of the game in my group, I will have multiple mages built and ready-to-play at the same time.

he is hindered by the gorilla limiting movement AND if he does move the ape charges in again for another hard hit while

In a game the other night I found hindering is one of he keys. They can either move ONE space or sit there and like it. Simply getting a creature next to your opponent seems to be a good tactic.

I was playing the priestess and was attempting to play "keep away", but once hindered I found myself staying pat and completely changing my game plan.

I'll be curious to hear what players with more experience than I have to say on the subject.

I was playing against my wife, who was running BM. She had a wolf with a stack of enchantments on it, and it was her freaking pet. In hind sight banishing it would have been a good solution.

Now that I think more about it though, is there any reason that Sleep isn't a better solution; not to mention cheaper?

I guess against a low level creature sleep is an ok solution. The problem I have with sleep is that it's easily removed by attacking your own (sleeped) creature. Sometimes you might not end up even making the creature lose one action - at least banish is guaranteed for 3 turns.

I'm new to the forums and I've been going through "catching up". I came across this about sleep, and we missed that fact in our initial plays. I appreciate this response too, as if I had not found it elsewhere it was something invaluable that we'd missed.

Indeed now I see the superiority and value of banish.

Gale Force Nine did the vinyl play mats for Dreamblade and they were wonderful.

Just putting that out there :)

Just a side note, but you cannot make three move actions with Fast. You can still only move a maximum of twice. It just lets you take a quick action after moving twice. This quick action cannot be another move however.

I know I'm late to the party here, and this is OT, but thanks for this. A few games in and we've been doing this wrong :)

General Discussion / Re: Best way to buy/start MW if you're into comp/OP
« on: January 24, 2013, 03:21:22 PM »
I've got 1 core and tome 1&2, but I'm still thinking I want a second core eventually. There are simply too many spells that I want more than 1-2 of, and certainly I wnat to have more than a single "great" deck built.

It's just like any of the FF LCG's; if you're going to make what I consider the best decks possible you'll absolutely need multiple cores. The same applies here with MW.
