Rules Discussion / Re: Goblin Legionnaire casting cost

So in contrast to the ring and cape, Gerard Matrangas gold can be used on the second and third Legionnaire even if the first one is played by the barracks? "Your Mage may spend Gold tokens as mana when they summon soldier or pirate creatures".

Which leads me to a follow up. Can his gold be used with Second Chance or reanimation (eternal servant, rise again, ziggurat of the undeath)? If I see it correctly the mage is the summoner in those cases.

General Discussion / Re: Companion App Update

I've made an updated version of the online SBB including the academy cards and also got feedback that they could use my help and haven't forgotten about it. So I'm currently on hold until they have found time. The update is not a big deal, so expect it to be finished very soon, definitely this year.

Rules Discussion / Afflicted Demon & Rise Again
« on: November 10, 2016, 09:33:59 AM »
In a recent game I enchanted an afflicted demon of my opponent with rise again then I killed and reanimated him.
When I understand the card texts and reanimate correctly he should get two weak tokens and a zombie marker at the same time. But these two are conflicting since he also gets poison immunity and therefore is immune to weak tokens.

Therefore my questions:
1. Are the weak tokens placed on the demon?
2. Are they removed when gets his zombie marker?
3. Or does he keep the tokens and he can transfer them but they do not affect him and he always attacks with 5 dice from the start?

Spellbook Builder / Re: Lets update the online SBB

So I see room for both, an updated official web sbb and your desktop version which has additional features and could support multiple languages. Concerning the first I'm delighted that AW is interested in my help which I will gladly provide, but I also could give you feedback or even a hand because thats basically my profession as a Computer Scientist and HCI Researcher.

Welcome to the Mage Wars community!

Looking forward to your contributions.

What does HCI stand for? Is that Human - Computer Interface?

Thanks, and Almost :) Human Computer Interaction https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human–computer_interaction

I read that you're from Germany.
Look there: http://www.foren.pegasus.de/foren/topic/26014-deckbuilding-software-auf-deutsch/page-9
Maybe in short time we will see a spellbook builder which you can use in many languages with all of the German and maybe English cards.

Hi FireMage,
I already read your post and I'm interested in your SBB, could I get a beta version? Personally I think that a web spell book builder has some advantages over a desktop java application, when it comes to easy accessibility from multiple devices. On the other hand my german friends didn't use the online spellbook builder since all its card are in english, so language may also reduce accessibility. Although I play with german cards I now know all the english titles from using the spell book builder.

Concerning the first I'm delighted that AW is interested in my help which I will gladly provide, but I also could give you feedback or even a hand because thats basically my profession as a Computer Scientist and HCI Researcher.

Spellbook Builder / Lets update the online SBB
« on: October 12, 2016, 04:59:37 PM »
hi,
I'm playing mage wars for more than two years now. I wasn't active in the forum but regular visited it for deck and strategy inspiration. Until Academy came out here in Germany I used the online spellbook builder to build my decks, because it was accessible and relatively simple. I also liked the iPad app but both are outdated for quiet a while now, much to the disappointment of the community. OCTGN also includes a decent spellbook builder, I used it briefly, but for me as a Mac User its not really accessible and running OCTGN under wine is not really stable which leads to frustration. I'm aware of other ambitions people who are developing spellbook builders. As a Java Programmer I thought about this myself, I really appreciate many new features in OCTGN or in the builders that are being developed but I also would be satisfied with a updated version of the official spellbook builder. So lets update it ...

Since it is a web application 95% of its source is accessible and can be downloaded and modified. Adding new sets, mages and cards is relatively easy. As you can see here, I already did this partially: https://pl.vc/7w0vv

The actual work lies in getting and formating the card data and images for all academy sets and PvS. OCTGN could be a source for both although image quality there is quite bad.

I could convert the set.xml files from OCTGN but i currently don't have access. If arcane wonders could then place all card images of the academy sets and PvS into http://forum.arcanewonders.com/cards/ where all the other cards can be found, the update would be complete.

In near future i also think that further features are possible like: adding the promos in a new set, display only academy cards or even a language selection.

to summarize: I looked into the code and already fixed most of the stuff that needs to be done. (like adding new sets, mages (academy)). I could aid in the update of the official spellbook builder if AW is interested. Updating the SBB is really simple and the community seams to be willing to help.
