So no change to Killer Bees, but only to the Swarm trait? Also sounds good to me.

Books should be submitted by May 13, but small changes before the tournament starts are still allowed.

Yeah, I guess they should, right? What nerf would you prefer? Having them doing critical damage only against living objects?

Also, we have Disciple of Radiance having its ability only once per round and Restore will not count for the remaining life points after each game.

Reminder: There are still a few days remaining to register at headjudge@jannis.rocks! :)

Short rules summary:
– All expansions in English and German allowed (including Academy Monk and Necromancer), but no promo card that haven’t been available as core cards in an expansion (so the promo cards that came with expansions aren’t allowed).
– One book for round 1–3, different mage for round 4–6. (Alternate mages count as different mages.) No changes during the day.
– Please bring everything your mages need—including all markers, damage tokens, mana tokens, initiative markers, dice and so on. We can only bring the arena game boards.
– We’ll play Swiss. On day 1, round 1–3 will be played (with the first mage) and round 4 (with the second mage). Day 2 will see round 5 and 6 (with the second mage). After that, the best two players will play in the finals and the winner of this game will be the fifth German Mage Wars Arena champion. For the final game you can choose between the first or second mage or use an entirely new spell book.
– 90 minutes time limit per game, after that the current round will be finished. Win is 2 points + 1/20 life difference to opponent (max. 3 points), draw (time limit called) is 1 point + 1/20 life difference (max. 2 points), lost game is 1 point - 1/20 life difference (min. 0 points). Sounds a bit complicated, but works really well.

Looking forward to seeing you at Bad Nauheim!

Sorry—for some reason I didn’t get or missed the notifications for this thread :(

netzshuffle,  what will you be doing with the promo cards?   can we win them, do we get them by demos?  Do you just give them away?

I always have promo cards (English and German) with me at the top 3 events in Germany (SPIEL in Essen, Spielwiesn in Munich and Role Play Convention in Cologne) and you can get them by just finding me (it’s easy: most of our volunteers there know who’s the Mage Wars Headjudge) and asking nicely. Bonus points if you tell me your name, where you know me from and why you love Mage Wars. Essen 2016 I gave away about 100 promo cards and was really surprised about that number, because you could only new from forum posts that I have them as we did not advertise that. :)

Magus Nenet-amon (Human Fire Wizard from Dsjer-tet)
Professor of Elemental Linguistics

We wondered in the German Mage Wars forum: Are there still Wizards trained in other element schools than Air in Etheria (but you can’t play them right now) or was the change also a retroactive change in the Lore?

And considering that they're the warlord and the forcemaster (but in German, literally translated as "powermaster")

Interesting thing is, yes, the German “Macht” normally is “power” in English. But in Star Wars, “die Macht” is “the Force”. So “Machtmeisterin” is a pretty cool translation of Forcemaster considering her typical tricks in the arena. :)

I’m an Arcane Wonders Ambassador; I’ll be at Essen at the Pegasus booth and am in charge of the Mage Wars activities there. Sadly, it’s almost impossible to do events at Essen. The huge halls are too noisy to concentrate during tournaments and dedicated tournament space is way too expensive. I’m always having promo cards with me but for anything more than that, I’m afraid that Essen just isn’t the right event.

Of course, but my experience with tournaments with 30 players taught me one thing: There is nothing that doesn’t happen. ;)

Thanks!

Exile does not forbid a creature to do actions or get active (in difference to Banish).

So am I right that:

a) The creature and its attached objects may not be targeted
b) The creature may not target other objects
c) The creature can do its action during the action phase
d) The creature will be turned active during the reset phase
e) The creature may target objects attached on itself?
