Interesting yes I could see that.  Also if you go that low on life having the Mage itself have innate armor (mystical or otherwise) seems cool/unique since none of the other mages come into the arena with any armor.  Armor value you can't dispell, dissolve etc would be very cool.

Since it is a "skeleton" is there any new incantations that let's skeletons "reassemble" or some such that would kind of get around the no gaining life rule of the non living?  Can you reassemble skeletons?

I love it!  Very cool, love the creature bond theme/idea.

I will say that lull ability which is essentially the same exact ability as the Charm card (but for 1 turn) seems a tad out of place.  Seems an ability for a Forcemaster or maybe that Siren Mage I've heard about.  On the Siren that ability would make perfect sense.  Her 'song' ability temporarily lulls opponents.

So I like the idea of a "cool" unique ability, but I'd say something else that even further increases your bond with your elementals/spirits.  Maybe something like your basic attack is a 3 dice version of the element you are bonded with.  Would be kind of fun to have a "different' base attack that can change.  Fire/Wind/Earth etc not to overcomplicate it but maybe even with a low chance to apply a condition like 9+ Fire adds burn Wind pushes Earth adds umm Slam or Stun?  I dunno on that last one

The other thing is with 25 life something needs to give you some life.  So maybe Spirit Bond could act similar to Tree Bond and give you +4 Innate Life and the Life Bond trait to transfer damage.

I'm pretty new to the game, but that seems ridiculously efficient for 13 mana. 5 attack, defense roll, psychic immunity, doesn't have Lumbering like other undead we've seen...compare that to the Dire Wolf or Bridge Troll. But at least it's nonliving so you can't heal it?

You are correct lettuce this Knight cannot be healed.

Nonliving = All Nonliving objects have the Poison Immunity and Finite Life traits.

Finite Life = This creature cannot heal, regenerate, or gain life.  All Nonliving objects have Finite Life.

I just realized I missed Wednesday's spoiler!  And now I can't check FaceBook at work.  Can someone say what it is without a link to Facebook please.  Copy/paste in a picture would be awesomeness.  Thanks.

The cool thing with the randomness of dice is your luck will turn and you WILL get some good rolls and then think of how good that will feel.  If you take out the randomness you don't get that momentary sense of "what will happen".  Just like in life things work how we want and sometimes they don't.  Even more true in a magic world where anything could happen.

I have crappy luck too, but the "chance" of it kind of has it's place and can keep it fun and new.  Like with chess there is no luck, here you get strategy of chess and randomness of dice.  It is a great mix, and it isn't "too much" randomness where it overshadows actually playing well and executing.

Mitigation is also a large factor if trying to reduce randomness (ie a super good hit), with more armor even if someone gets a good roll (unless all crits) it takes out some of their stellar roll magic.

For the Graveyard when it says "Burnproof" since that isn't Fire Immunity that means you can still attack it with Fireballs, Flameblast or any other Fire attack but you just can't put Burn tokens on it?  Is that correct?

Creative / Re: $6 magnetic status board.
« on: September 18, 2013, 08:04:00 AM »
This was the best idea EVER.  Those tiny little wood blocks were always getting bumped or sliding around.

I got the small white board, some strong magnets, and perfection!  A simple and cheap solution.  No more frustration with the table getting ticked or a cube sliding.  Plus with the little extra room with the white board we can jot down little reminders to ourselves for upkeep and the like.

We also use that to write down what our life total is since it invariably goes off the board most games.

Thank you so much!

Yes I could see it meaning both depending on interpretation.  Especially since creatures could be destroyed more than once per round.

So when it says "When a creature is destroyed the first time each round"
it could mean:
A. each time a creature is destroyed you get mana but only the 1st time a creature is destroyed
B. the 1st time a creature dies once per round you gain mana

If it is B then it seems specifying the order of events first (being the first time a creature is destroyed) would have made more intuitive wording.  "Once per round when the first creature is destroyed you gain mana."

If it is A and you do get mana the first time each creature is destroyed (and not the 2nd time it is destroyed if you destroy the same creature twice) then it makes sense as is.

Wow very cool.  So since it says "a creature" that is any creature including your own?  So you could sacrifice your own creature (using the Altar to destroy it) and that would increase melee and increase mana at the same time?

Looking at the Resources and Downloads section, there is only a jpg of Core Spell Tome 2 that is a total blur if I enlarge it to read it, and there is no file at all for Core Spell Tome 1. Are there pdf files of these two lists anywhere else?

I just clicked the spell Tomes off the download list and they work just fine and are easy to read and print.  You went to the download page (about 3/4th the way down all the spell lists are available via drop box.

Now what they need to add is an animal/insect Familiar that can cast flowers/seedlings etc as a way to sort of speed up the process and proliferate/multiply faster.

Bee
Animal/Insect
Nature Level 1
Mana cost 5
Mana Regen 1
Armor 0
Life 5
Flying

Quick Attack - Sting
2 damage +1 piecing (8+ Adds 1 Poison counter)

Full Action - Pollenate
This action allows the familiar to cast a Seedling Pod spell.
** maybe add other flower/vine etc spells I'm not sure, at least seedlings though.

And I think of the tree as the "spore thrower" so it made sense (to me) that the TREE could have extended range but not the pod itself.

I like it either way.  It's clever and a different mechanic that is unique.  I like that they are still coming up with very NEW things and not just variations on things that already exist.

It's still very good and makes sense.  The item is coming out of the pod itself, not being spread via vines.

So the pod can be spread at increased range, just not the creature/conjuration coming out of it.  So indirectly vines still work for the end spawn point.
