Spells / Re: Pentagram

both the warlock and the wizard have terrible creature options. i would take anything the beastmaster or priestess has in a heartbeat. the only thing warlock side i would even consider is the hellion, and on the wizard side the mana leech.

to be fair LCG is becoming a common term used for a fixed distribution card game. it is not like we have another term to use atm unless someone standardizes one.

Pentagram is fine. it is the warlocks poor creature selection that is the issue here.

pestilence idol hasn't been that bad. unless my opponent shoves it in a corner i can attack it on the foxes first turn. an idol usually only lasts 2 turns against me. the only thing that really wrecks this opening's day is a electrify or ring of fire as they are highly likely to one shot my foxes even at full hp.

The Sell Sheet is still accurate in terms on product contents.

The Forcemaster Vs. Warlord expansion will contain:
216 Spell Cards
2 Custom Spellbooks
2 Mage Cards
2 Mage Ability Cards
Die-cut markers (These are the health and mana marker variety.)
Rules

Action Markers (packaged separately) are heading out to distributors today.

Hope this gives you some clarity.

John

this setup really bothers me. you should strive for consistency in your products. if you plan to include 2 spell books and markers in every expansion i am quickly going to have to start throwing things away from my new purchases. i realize your still small and new so your trying to meet multiple needs but with a game like this your products really need to be focused. Players are less likely to make purchases when a products price gets ramped up by items they don't need.

also this works awesome with animal kinship. drop 2 or 3 after you get the 6 bitterwood foxes out and they really start to hit like trucks.

Doesn't your mage gain the benefit of kinship, not the foxes? Perhaps you meant Call of the Wild?

O_o i miss played this card terribly. i guess ill have to change to call of the wild on a wand or rajan's fury.

Spellbook Design and Construction / Re: Labirynth of Minotaur

if they added a card that allowed you to walk or shoot through solid walls this would instantly become a very viable strategy.

Sounds like it might have potential depending on the new cards

This is the wording we are looking at for Taunt

If the creature being Taunted is in the same zone as Taunting creature, then it must melee attack the Taunter if able. If the creature being Taunted is in a zone adjacent to Taunting creature, then it must move into its Taunter’s zone, or make a ranged attack against the Taunter, if able. It does this even if it may not be able to make a melee attack after moving towards the enemy. Taunt does not work on creatures with psychic immunity.

Is this the new wording? In rulebook there is nothing about creature being forced to chase taunter.

And - is creature able to attack itself?

creatures can attack themselves. if they couldn't reverse attack wouldn't work.

General Questions / Re: Basilisk Animal?
« on: January 28, 2013, 09:00:58 PM »
see that is the thing.

the emerald tengu is an animal and a reptile so that is not it.

the unicorn is a animal and a mythical/mystical creature so that is not it either.

i really don't see an issue with mimicking Fantasy Flight Games Living Card Game distribution model. It is a really popular model with TCG fans who are sick of random packs and the insane single's market that they have.

I also haven't heard any complaints from my local game store about the distribution model.

The key is making sure what cards are in what packs readily available so people can buy the packs they need for their current spellbook project rather than feeling like they need to just grab everything out there.

for example i play Game of Thrones. my initial investment was the core set and a special expansion box for the faction i play. after that i have spent $30 a month to buy two packs of cards. FFG releases 1 pack a month so i am slowly catching up with whats out and will eventually only have to pay $15 a month to stay current. very cheap for a card game. i pay that much a month to play a MMORPG.

also this elusive "full set" is not really something that should be discussed for the very reason brought up. For TCG collection purposes people are usually gunning for what is called the "Play Set" IE the maximum number they can play in one deck/spell book. this is a good target to have in your distribution model.

General Questions / Basilisk Animal?
« on: January 28, 2013, 04:08:38 AM »
so i looked at stone gaze basilisk the other day while building my beastmaster book and thought it would be nice to add him because i have very limited ranged attack options. to my surprise he is not in fact an animal. is this correct or is it a error? seems off to me if he isn't.
