General Discussion / Is there an Event Kit for Academy
« on: October 19, 2015, 09:02:20 AM »
Just wondering if there was an event kit for academy. I have two weekends lined up at my FLGS- The Gamers Realm where I will be running demo's once the product is in the store 11/14 and 11/21.  Or does anyone have any ideas?

I was hoping for a sign up sheet or Poster for the store. They have a good MTG base so I am hoping to garner some interest from that crowd.

General Discussion / Looking for Card info in Excel format
« on: January 29, 2014, 12:56:17 PM »
So I want to to be able sort and parse the cards in the game. Unfortunately in it's current form the deck builder does not suffice. Does anyone have a an excel doc with all of the cards with all of the fields? The current iterations on BGG do not fit the bill either. I was hoping to get the combat bar and text as well.

Thanks

Ok so I know I do not post a lot to the forums, but I was hoping that some observations about the spellbook builder could be implemented.

1) Add more searchable fields all items on a card should show up as searchable fields

This would include mana cost/Level/attack bar/ etc etc

I know you can view the actual cards by hovering but it makes it makes setting up a spell book more time consuming than it needs to be.... I know I should have memorized all of the cards by now  but........

2) Please include hyperlinks to FAQ'a for the cards as well errata

3) If it is resource issue preventing #1 then let us download all of the cards as a XLS or other format so we can do our own sorting.

4) Please have the aprentice and base spellbooks available as defaults from the SBB (Spell Book Builder)
I would also like to see Spellbooks that win major cons and contests available on the SBB.

Overall this would make the SBB a more useful product as well as turning it into a card DB

Alternative Play / Multi Player Intro Games
« on: July 10, 2013, 08:54:39 AM »
I had a fun experience last week during the local FLGS game night. since it is a communal event no one wanted to split off to learn Mage Wars, so I suggested a 4 player intro game. We started with a 20 minute intro to go over some of the basics and then hit the ground running.
It went a lot better than I thought it would. One of the advantages was that they got to experience what the other three players were doing on their turns, ask questions and get explanations while other players were going and it meant we had a good pace during the game.
We got started later than I wanted two and after about two hours it was getting late so we called the game.
Overall I think the format worked out well for teaching the game and I look forward to getting more players to try out the game.
