Tournament - $5 entry fee, 90 minute rounds
Demos - FREE

This will be both a Mage Wars tournament, and demo day at Saltire Games. The entry fee will be paid out in store credit according to turn out, and placing (more details soon). There will also be some promo cards, and other promotional Mage Wars items.

I may need a volunteer to help me with demos, if anyone is interested. Please invite your friends.

I plan on having a dinner outing afterwords for anyone who is interested. I really hope to strengthen the player base in Indiana.

Prize Split based on the number of participants:

4 or fewer - Winner takes all
5 to 7 - Winner gets 75%, 2nd Place takes 25%
8 to 10 - Winner takes 50%, 2nd takes 30%, 3rd and 4th each get 10%
More than 10 - we will split into separate pods and each will be paid according to pod size

Format:

Swiss style. Druid Vs. Necromancer cards are NOT legal (if you have them somehow). Promo cards not printed in another set are NOT legal for this tournament.

Tiebreaker:

We will use highest remaining life as a tiebreaker for this tournament.

I am starting a playgroup in Marion, Indiana.  This is tentatively starting on March 24th, and will regularly meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 1pm, with other events possibly scheduled on off-days.  This will meet at TCB Games  in the Five Points Mall.

As a CCG player, I am accustomed to traveling light for events.  I am also partial to playmats.  I recently was traveling to a CCG tournament, and planned on teaching some of my teammates to play Mage Wars.

Problem:  The Mage Wars board doesn't fit into standard sized carry-on luggage.

Instead, we used CCG playmats as a makeshift board.  A standard sized CCG playmat is about half the size of the Mage Wars board.  You can make standup dividers, or draw a crid on a mat, but that's not nearly as attractive as the actual board.  I have made a couple of quick/generic ideas for more permanent (and attractive) solutions, but I wanted to stimulate some creativity in the community and maybe from the Arcane Wonders.

I am not very good with image editing, so they are... meh.

Note: most custom playmat sites require an image size of 24.5" x 14.5" with the outside .25" border being cut off.  150-300dpi is preferable also.
