Biblofilter wins with a Paladin!!!!!!

Top 4:

Biblofilter: Paladin
Arthur: Force Master
Andrew: Johktari Beast Master
Millie: Necromancer

Full update when I'm recovered!!!!

Just as a slight correction Ryan placed 3rd with the Beastmaster. I (Andrew) went 2-2 with the double Battleforge warlord.

Matches are 75 minutes in length.
Scoreing works follows

Win by mage death = 4 points
If game goes to time limit the mage with the most remaining life gets a modified win = 3 points
Modified loss = 1 point
Loss by mage death = 0 points

So, I agree with alot of the stuff that is being said in this thread. I however don't think that the amount of time hours/days is an issue. I know that myself and the rest of the playgroup from Saint Louis went to Gen Con specifically for Mage wars. We took 5 of the 12 seats this year and all of us would not be opposed to multiple arena tournaments or multiple days.
We would however be bothered if it went to an invitational type tournament as the Saint louis area only has 1 ambassador (myself). So I would need to Judge and therefore could not join and I do not think any of us could make it to pre-qualifiers too far outside our area.

Yeah, We are going to be using all of the current arcane wonders tournament rules and errata. Which means wizard will be air/arcane only.
So, only expansions that have been officially released for at least 30 days. This will mean everything is legal except Paladin vs. Siren and any promos.
Hope to see you there.

Strategy and Tactics / Re: Swarmmaster (3 creatures per round)

I ran a similar book at Gencon 2016 and it did alright. you alternate between asps and darkfene bats for rot and weak.
The large creature problem is resolved by dropping bigger creatures when needed a Emerald Tegu as a pet makes a great guard or offensive creature to add to your rot pile.
Of the four rounds at gencon I went  2-2 and played Biblofilter (this years champion) in a freeplay game and took his necro down to 1 life before dying to a play mistake on my part.
The book isn't perfect (none are) and it has bad match ups where it gets wrecked( like Sharkbaits adramlech) but it is fun, and a solid contender. I am at work now but will try to post my build later.

Great, looking forward to seeing you there (maybe)
I forgot to add this to the original post, but it will be standard Mage Wars tournament rules.
This means that only sets that have been released for more than 30 days will be legal, so no Paladin vs. Siren cards.
