Spellbook Design and Construction / Re: In-school only builds?
« on: August 07, 2012, 07:41:50 PM »
Yeah I agree with Shad0w that it seems like there are going to be some utility spells that will be needed no matter what school you are.  However maybe a mechanic could be worked out if a mage stays completely in their own school like giving that mage 140 points or something.

how did you set a tourney up?  Were you allowed to change spells in between matches?  Also did you know what your next opponent was before you faced them?

Actually that would be really neat to have Mage specific books.

Mages / Re: Mages that you would like to see in the game
« on: August 04, 2012, 07:31:55 PM »
I think a telepath would be great.  Someone who could essentially look through an opponents spell book, maybe see and react to the two spells picked for the round, and maybe be able to cast illusions of creatures in an opponents spell book.  Maybe in the end game even be able to influence an enemies use of their quick action!

That's awesome!  I love the balance and how quickly the tide can change for either mage.

As the wizard I am really hoping there is a way to reflect curative magic from my opponents creatures to my own

Well I already know that my son Nevin is going to be the beastmaster.  He is already pumped up for idea of summoning hordes of forest creatures.  Me tho, will probably have to go to the wizard.  I like the idea of the subtle tricks the wizard can play on the battlefield to mess with my opponents plans.  (Even tho my son will find some way to turn it against me! :cheer: )

@ Dragkin  If you go to the mage wars facebook page there has been a card spoiled daily for the past 40 days or so.  Also there is a lot of good pictures and of the Arcane Wonders staff demoing and playtesting the game across the country.  A lot of good information on it.  Should keep you busy for a little while!

lol! Thats awesome!  The earlier they play games (board games that is) it gets those brains developing.  And there is nothing cooler than when my son out-plays me in a game!
