Strategy and Tactics / Re: Raincloud and druid vs. Warlock
« on: May 16, 2016, 08:57:43 AM »
Any advice on a an anti-warlock druid build to offset the fire weakness?
Keep the Raincloud....maybe add one more.

Reminder to everyone, I'll accept signups until 2359 Central US time tonight. After that I'll get the league set up and the schedule set with the rules posted so everyone can get started playing.

As for allowable cards, I was going to go with the typical Thunderdome rules (promos allowed but any official releases supercede old rules. Ballista will also be war mage only)
And Unique?

Or maybe a War enchantment (targeting any Corporeal creature): "Bravery", "Kungfu skills", "Grabby Fingers."  ;)
I would go with Judo Chop! I keep telling Arron if he gives me that, I will add in sound effect for that one attack in OCTGN with Austin Powers shouting it...no buy in so far.... :)

[mwcard=FWA03]Hail of Stones[/mwcard] can be quite nasty against a low-level swarm, yes the larger the better......

Frost damage?!?!  Don't be a tease.  Are we finally getting Frost as a damage type?
No not saying that at all! Just that big changes were coming...

Not speaking for anyone but myself. You all know I have been a fan of the game since 2012 and have been active here on the forums and help slightly with the maintenance of the MW module on OCTGN. I cant say anything official as I am bound by an NDA, but I can tell you for facts the wheels are turning and you will see stuff start to get churned out here very soon, I won't say Fire hose level we're downing but there will be plenty to keep us all satisfied. I would mark the "lull" as a growing pains and learning experience but much like one of my favorite TV shows likes to say: Winter is coming!

I hope this really this helps and am quite sure that everyone will be thrilled for what they have been so patiently waiting for, you will not be disappointed.

Yeah, that is why I made the graphic, Word Press. I will see if I can come up with something a bit more intuitive, its much like the Cards button on the Aw forums here....
Thanks, I was always waiting for dropdown to appear and clicking card database.
Funny I was thinking about doing the same thing on my side. When Pixelgeek rolled out the CardDB I asked for a button that I could click on up top of the forums and that is what we got. :)

The main thing in my opinion is don't rely on a single +2 Armor piece of equipment. It can easily be dissolved and you're back at 0 Armor, if you have 2 pieces of +1 Armor or any permutation like this it becomes very difficult to pull this trick off, and if you were to keep a third item lined up, like a hidden Brace Yourself, you pretty are now pretty well inoculated. The nice as thing that even though you hare spent 2-3 actions to counter the WoTP, the solution is viable through the rest of the game and really helps against other forms of spiked damage.

So out of curiosity, I just checked all of my non-wizard main spellbooks, and the Frugal Beastmaster is the only one that would cost less book points with a wizard. The decks I've checked include the Frugal Warlock, Sudowoodo (Druid), Eternal Mohktari (Druid), and the latest upcoming version of the Fatigue Forcemaster.
Curiosity question on the Frugal side, how many total spells are in each of your frugal books?

Its to the left of the FAQ button.....

I haven't found the Angels to be made of paper myself, the main thing is you can't run a Angels books (Guardian being the exception) as they don't hinder ground pounders unless on guard, which then they loose flying which is one of there strengths.....

Rules Discussion / Re: Teaching Mage Wars
« on: April 29, 2016, 09:21:47 AM »
When I teach, I try to integrate keywords in to game play. I.E. this creature has the Fast trait, and I quickly explain what it means and how to use it. Same way when they reveal a card, and it has a keyword and they haven't asked about it yet, I give a quick once over on it and how they might use it, and I then move on.

The main thing I try to do while teaching, is to keep it moving, minimize analysis paralysis, and give a good feel for the game. Also make sure the "minis" types, know that is a kill the king game or otherwise they might try to summon every creature of the spellbook.
