Hello! The alternate beastmistress and the alternate priest are already in the market, included in the "Conquest of Kumanjaro" expansion. They are already reaching Europe (it was released a month ago or so in the United States), so I think it will reach the southern hemisphere soon too :) The rest of alternate cards will be released in forthcoming expansions too :)

As regarding promos, up to date all the cards that have been released are -or will be- included in forthcoming expansions, so the policy of Arcane Wonders seems to avoid promo cards as something exclusive for the lucky ones who manage to get them. The promos are just gold foil cards, and make the particular spell available for the owner several months before they reach the market, but we will all get them sooner or later. Don't worry about that.

Hope it helps!

General Discussion / Re: Mage Wars Ambassadors in my area?
« on: June 28, 2013, 05:40:42 PM »
Hello! :)

The Ambassadors have not been oficially selected yet :) Arcane Wonders will do it soon, in a few days, according to Pat's last mail. I am not sure if they are thinking about listing them, but that sounds like a pretty interesting idea. A directory with cities/areas and the ambassadors around there, with an email address or something like that. Sounds pretty cool :)

So it seems you'll have to wait a little bit more to know if there are ambassadors around your uni! Good luck!

My experience with the previous expansion (Forcemaster vs. Warlord) is that it took around an extra month to reach most of the European countries. It arrived to Spain 4-5 weeks after it US release, and it reached some other countries around here (Italy, UK and Germany for sure) in the same period, maybe 2-3 days before/after Spain. That makes me think that we won't have it here probably until August.

However the extra spell books and the 4-player game tokens took much more time to reach this side of the Atlantic. Like 2 months and a half. I hope it happened just because these items had a smaller production and distribution than the cards.

Well, I think if Arcane Wonders agrees in sharing, the best choice to share a large pdf is definitely via Dropbox :)
If it is ok for them to make that file circulate, that would be great for working on spellbooks without having the game with you. Yes, I know you can do that with the Excel sheets that have been posted somewhere, but having the scans makes things, at least for me, faster, easier and nicer :)

I'm a lonely bloke from the UK, with no gaming mates, so I'm OUT!     :-\

No way, man! I'm pretty #foreveralone in my small southern Spanish city, but that is a powerful reason to be a MW Ambassador! We NEED to spread the word to get more players! I read somewhere (maybe earlier in that thread?) that they are accepting international ambassadors, so let see how it works! :)

General Discussion / Re: Mage Wars en español / MW in Spanish

(Traducción al español debajo!)

Hi there! Do we have any piece of news about the Spanish sub-forum or thread or something like that? I am trying really hard to find Spanish Mage Wars players in general gaming forums out there, but believe me, I have the feeling it would be much more fruitful to have a tiny corner around here :P

And second question! News about the Spanish edition?

Thanks!

¡Buenas!

Gracias!

Rules Discussion / Re: Questions about fireshaper ring and caltrops
« on: March 26, 2013, 10:35:18 AM »
Wow, that was speed-of-light answer! Thanks! :D:D:D

[strike]Why no to the two rings? Rules say two rings can be used at the same time in page 20, and I have been trying too find something about it in the 'attack modifiers' section in page 24. Actually I asked this because it seems to me a VERY powerful combination to be able to have a 8 dice burning attack, but I didn't manage to find something saying this is not possible.[/strike]

Thanks again!

EDIT: Thanks for the answer about the rings, Tacullu64. I missed that thing about having two copies of the same piece of equipment at the same time. Great!

Rules Discussion / Questions about fireshaper ring and caltrops
« on: March 26, 2013, 10:13:29 AM »
1.- Can I have two fireshaper rings with my wizard, so they add +2 to his fire attacks? I assume the answer is yes, but I want to confirm this.
2.- Is the fireshaper ring bonus added to attacks binded to the elemental wand? (getting, for instance, a binded 8-dice attack fireball with the two rings). I am not sure if the bonus is just used for 'straight' attacks the mage casts -attack and discard the spell-, or also for the attacks coming from binded spells.
3.- If my mage is in a zone with caltrops, and he summons a creature there, is that summoned creature affected by caltrops?

Thank you!

Another question about the mangler caltrops. What if they are in a spawningpoint? Do creatures spawning there suffer the attack? Thanks!

General Questions / Forcefield
« on: March 09, 2013, 01:30:33 PM »
Quick and simple question: when the forcefield enchantment has no tokens on it, is the spell discarted, or it remains in game, waiting to get a new token in the next upkeep phase?

Thanks!
