General Discussion / Re: 4 player expansion

Heck, I'd be willing to buy Status Boards, if they are exact replicas of those included in the Core.

Obviously, most of us would only need 2 additional...but whatevs!  :)

I agree with Locusshifter...
If these 2 Mage expansions came with status boards, I think I'd be one happy dude.

The new cards, mostly Mage specific obviously, the new books (to house our current iterations) and the rules and chits necessary (if any) are all awesome.
A Status Board or two would make them perfect, imo.

I hope most of the forthcoming expansions follow this staple...great job!

The Sell Sheet is still accurate in terms on product contents.

The Forcemaster Vs. Warlord expansion will contain:
216 Spell Cards
2 Custom Spellbooks
2 Mage Cards
2 Mage Ability Cards
Die-cut markers (These are the health and mana marker variety.)
Rules

Action Markers (packaged separately) are heading out to distributors today.

Hope this gives you some clarity.

John

Rules Discussion / Explode vs. Reverse Attack?
« on: November 10, 2012, 07:11:24 AM »
Hello!

So, I love the wording you guys use for your cards...they truly do help with the majority of the ambiguities.

Take Explode, for instance.  It specifically says that Explode makes the attack.  So that clears up a butt-load of potential discrepancies right there.

My question, or perhaps clarification, really, is in regards to how Explode (and any card that wont be staying in play that might state that it's the source of the attack)  interacts with the Reverses...

Reverse Attack says the next attack changes the target to the source of said attack (paraphrasing, obviously).  So...is my Reverse, in effect, wasted?  Was I outsmarted again by my opponent??  Lol!

I obviously cannot "attack" the Explode card...so is my Reverse revealed (and I would simply choose not to spend the 5 mana) and discarded, without effect?
Or is this an exception to the reveal rule and I can save it for a logical card to "attack"?

I think I know...just want to be certain!

Simply terrific game...please get us more soon!!!     Hehe.        :)

Mages / Re: Mages that you would like to see in the game
« on: November 06, 2012, 05:24:52 PM »
I was thinking about a Wild Mage as well...
Something along the lines of, every spell he casts costs 2 less (to a minimum of 0) and every attack spell is +1...but, whenever he casts a spell he needs to roll 3 dice.  At least 1 critical side must be showing or the spell fizzles (return it to his/her spell book).

Obviously, this would need testing and balancing...I have no idea if these numbers are fair or whatever, but I like the nice bonus with the risk of things just not going off...

I obviously will be contacting the store nearest me that I suspect might participate, but there are so few near...they're all quite far, lol, that I was hoping a list might be available.

Spellbook Design and Construction / Re: Why Bearskin for the Beastmaster
« on: November 06, 2012, 04:56:52 PM »
I don't have the cards in front of me, but I seem to recall that the cost, in spell points, would be much greater for the BM adding a Dragonscale, no?

The Bearskin not only makes thematic sense but costs much less I think...
