I really don't recommend harmonizing a temple of assyra unless you are planning on having it focused down. It increases the value of the target by a lot. Now its 5 sp worth of target and the acid ball, boulder/hammer makes much more sense to use to kill it. That temple is squishy as hell

He will still respond but I've seen him use it in everything from wizard to warlord. Its just a workhorse card that does so many things for such little cost. Uts 6 mana for 12 health! That's insane value! If course the true cost is in the actions it takes to activate the spring, but if all you do from then on is heal twice its paid for itself in spades. If it removes one condition in addition to the free 3 dice its paid for itself period.
This card is core guys, from before cure, before merridias blessing, before healing wand even. Rain cloud, mend, extinguish, this thing predates them all. And back in the dark days the renewing spring did WORK! specifically rare work at the time. Short answer id bet, is that her likes it cuz it's fucking awesome! Lol! But maybe I'm wrong and thats just me. Well see.

I mean... yes? Lol nobody plays sardonyx. And if you we're facing off against the big dead dragon then renewing spring wouldn't have been a good choice in the first place. It isn't heart for absolutely everything but it's pretty baller for what you get. 6 mana for 12 health? Sure ill take that

Don't forget that the renewing spring also lets you remove a condition marker. Plus if you burn your full action using a zone attack to try and kill a bunch of creatures all at once, they can cast the spring and just heal up that damage one for one and be fresh and ready to come back I  the fight. It works best for swarms but ies a great way to pop off corrode, burn,  or the like and heal up for cheap. And it's reusable. I used to feel the same way but then i went to gen con and saw it get amazing use. It legitimately is a great card

I mean... you could do something like that actually. You could put whatever factors of the board state you want into a roll modifier. Life remaining= +1 for each 5 life round down. Creatures on the board +1 for each, mana in store at game off +1 for each 4, conjurations (prolly non vine markers) +1 for each.
Then literally have a roll off for victory with the applied modifiers on the d12! That way you could even split a tie with points to either side for not dying but not killing either with the victor of the roll getting 2 points the loser gets 1.
Now the exact number for the modifiers and maybe even the dice in general could be changed (we could do it with attack dice as well), but this way you'd have a list you check off immediately based on current board state and mages state, it wouldn't take long to do the math (cuz of the reference card and it being based I  whats out now) and there is a final roll with random results added to modifiers based on the situation at end game.
Not too bad a representation of what you might have been About to encounter, with the added bonus of randomness. I'd abide by it. Maybe that's just me

Not for nothing but why does disciple of radience need errata? For all its potential power I've seen one mage play with them. One. Puddnhead. And even he plays only 2 at a time. Yeah it's strong but super telegraphed, if you don't stop it before they successfully drop 5 or 6 of them with a ton of fave down enchantments then maybe you kinda deserve that loss.  Idk, maybe that's just me. Lol

is a timed win being half the value of a kill win not good enough? youd stull have to lose more than you win to lose to a guy with 4 timed wins that way.
but still i see what you mean. restore is a potential game breaker in that regard. but still, i posit that when a player pockets a card every round and doesnt cast it, while shiftily peeping at his watch every 15 seconds and twirling his mustache, chuckling evilly to himself,  a clever player might forsee a restore and play accordingly, especially when hes sitting across from one of the 3 mages that can use said epic spell and be ready when the boss man says 5 minutes left.
but again, maybe thats just me. lol

i originally had thought of using them in a siren, my problem was that they roll fewer dice in a shallow sea which is where youd want them pulling things. Yes the harpooner is awesome, but shes also super expensive!!! and lvl3. i like her still, but shes not as spamable.

is restore REALLLY that big an issue? lol! im just thinking about it myself, and i recall that even though there was a time limit on the matches there was a few minutes of down time between each. Restore is epic, if its on the board why not just run it another round? a dispel fixes the whole problem, a seeking dispel or decoy and a dispel if theres an arcane ward even. i mean i know thats kind of a dick move but still... if its breaking timed tourneys THAT much? or is this all just theorycraft?

« on: December 19, 2017, 09:55:37 PM »
thats exactly what im saying. theres no need to add white mana or a specific card or crystal or mcguffin to the book to make it work. stick the heal in there, pay the 6 SP and your done, enjoy your 8 dice of healing whenever you want it! Its what makes this game so awesome, stick adramalech in that wizard book! Throw titanodon in a druid book! pet that unicorn and enjoy the crap outa that extra life and armor and dice. Thematically it makes perfect sense, this is a world where raw magic literally solves world problems. i imagine every mage is colored a bit dfferently as far as the magic they like to work goes. play around and see what works, sometimes its worth it just for the Ha ha's. Hell , i played Resuresction in one of my Druids and it was worth every one of the 8SP.
