Mages / Re: Paladin and Siren speculation

When I remember it right. Somewhere was mentioned that he will have some special equipment. The more you put on the better it gets. The description sounded more like a solo mage.

I think it is more the other way round. What would be different, if e.g. dissolve and dispel will be novice and some of that war spells not. I think that makes a huge difference.

There is another nice use for this card. If you want an opponents creature dead rather in this round than to wait for some more rounds, it might be good to use this card.

For me it makes sense. The magic is strong enough to prevent an aggressive attack against the caster of the spell. However, it is not strong enough if the creature is defending a zone and therefore friendly units inside the zone. The creature defending only reacts to a hostile move. Maybe there exists another spell, which is more powerful that would prevent both kind of attacks.

One should not underestimate the versatility of goblin alchemist. The fire attack should be quite nasty against plants. Also the smouldering curses ability of the new warlock as well as its new familiar should be quite useful agaist creatures and conjurations with an inherent fire weakness.

Sorry to say this but one game cannot prove anything. However it would be a lot of fun to watch.  :)

I cannot see that this issue is a big problem. As far as I can see this is rather a fun book than a competitive one. You already have a big tax burden spellpointwise, because of all that skeletons which count double for the warlord. If you would play against me I would definitely don't have a problem with houseruling the skeletal sentry so that it has the soldier subtype. I think thar would be fair game. Maybe just ask the guys you are playing with, if you could houserule this way.

@LordofWinter: the card you remember is from the current organized play kit. It is an orkish bowman.
