Title: Sectarus, the dark sword
Post by: enozama on November 14, 2014, 12:20:52 AM
Hi everyone! It's my first post here and really happy being part of this community!

I was wondering how Sectarus worked. Does it cast curses only when it attack someone? Or can it cast as a quick spell like you would do with your mage? And does it need to be prepared while you're in the planning phase or do you go get it in your spellbook at the moment Sectarus casts it?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Sectarus can only cast the curse prepared on it, when it damages a creature with it's attack. You must choose this spell in the planning phase.

Meaning the sword can't cast a curse in the round it is summoned, right?

More appropriately, it has no spell to cast on the round it is summoned. But, yes the end result is it cannot cast a spell the round it's summoned.

The big thing to look at with all familiar objects is if it is given any line of text to cast and how.  Wife Sectaurs is not given any kind of action maker then it has only that one outlet for casting.
