Hey Everybody!
So my gaming group, of about five or so, are getting our two copies of the game and we're looking to expand and hopefully get a league together when the time comes.

I will be coordinating events for the Arsenal and Game Preserve (Greenwood). As it stands we are looking into a monthly meet up covering Magewars, Warhammer: Invasion and Netrunner.

Its NP they only want me to slay the repeat threads. You can use necromancy but need to pay the upkeep or the thread dies again. :P

Ha ha Well considering my play style is to burn through mana like drinking water, that might be a problem :D will have to alter my play style a little bit then

Well, the Arsenal is no more... where are Mage Wars addicts in Central Indiana hanging out these days?
I would love to get in more games... I've only had one other person to play when I go to non-tournament settings, and even then that is only irregularly. It seems like no one wants to join us when I'm able to show up.
Boy do I need the practice! (In other words, if you want to win, look me up!)

We have been playing around town. Sometimes at game time in castleton on center run road. I am working on getting my house fund up to full and will be buying someplace on the se side of town. It will be set up for gaming too. I would expect regular gaming sessions then. It is so sad that arsenal is no more. It had great location and hours of operation.

Tim? It seems that we're split between west and south parts of town, and our new Mage couple lives well out Pendelton Pike on the east side. SE side would be a bit of a drive, but a lot closer than heading out to his place.

We all had a great time today... for players were there from 1-2 p.m. until closing at 8 p.m. I believe that we will not be meeting in April as that date conflicts with Whosyercon... but we'll see everyone again in May.

That sounds like a reasonable weekend for us... Gale is off all week that week if I remember correctly. I'll let you know if one or both of us will not make it... otherwise, presume that we'll be there.

TI3 rocks... I have two games set up at Origins this year, and have a game next Saturday (which starts after we play a game of Rex to get in the mood).
I won't be able to make GenCon this year... I work in Finance and we can't get time off the first week or two each month to close the books.

wow, that is great. i will have some snacks, and soda. bring a pillow. there are a few beds available. several recliners, and couches. and tons of floor space for an air matress, or sleeping bags. in case it matters to anyone, i am off work thursday too. so if anyone wants to show on 12/1 they would also be welcome.

it was last weekend. however i think it is likely we will be playing mw this weekend on sunday if you can make it. biblo will be arriving on eve of 8/12 saturday and staying through wednesday when we head to the con. i am off the whole week of gencon. so anytime that saturday through tuesday night i am sure mw will be going on too.

hey. i am thinking of another mw weekend. have a couple options. one is that i am wondering if there is any availability for people between origins and gencon. july 13-15 weekend. the other would be instead (or in addition) late sept or sometime in oct. so canvassing to see who can make it when. if it is late sept, it will be 9/21-23, and if in oct will be 10/19-21.

We just did a 3 vs 3 on a 6x3 with starting position in direct view of one of your opponents.
Playing to 1 Mage death with no life bonding between teammates.
Main advantage is that it only took an hour or so :)

currently siren is undefeated by a few players at 3-0.

Fun games and another good time at Zots!!! Frost Siren has gotten better and I’m working in on fine tuning it! I got six frost tokens stacked on the mage for 12 damage. Burst of frost is pretty sweet and can be deadly. Got a lot of solid games in too help round out some of my books. Jbuzzsaw force master is pretty awesome, loved Toms builds too especially the Joktari crab book. Zot had his impressive solid builds as well all which were very tough. VictorE Necro and Wizard are still doing great as well.

Had really good time, thanks for the complaint on force master farkas, I had on,y played it once before and it's a mate I have lot of problems with. Am played stanyer friend brought enjoyed time also, he has been on octagon more since and I have been trying to get him to play more. Zot thanks for having it and putting us up for weekend. I learned a few things overall and even more about things I saw in other books as well as my own. Looking forward to next time time and having a few new academy cards to try

My Mage Wars week starts on July 21 at the World Boardgaming Convention in Sevens Springs Resort, PA. Demos and open gaming until the tournament starts on July 25.

I am planning on having a serious tournament for 11/16 Saturday. hope to start at 1pm or so. I will post rules for it here in advance. but the starting point will be the 2019 gencon rules as a base. there may be a couple of card modifications beyond those base rules. the 2 cards being considered for change to printed version are ritual of kallek, and perhaps pillar of righteous flame. just a thought at the moment.
should be a blast. looking forward to seeing folks. more to come....

Once per round, whenever your Mage casts or reveals a healing spell, Disciple of Radiance may deal 1 direct light damage to a target creature in her zone

Previous wording - If you cannot pay all of the costs, the spell is cancelled and discarded, and you have lost the action.
New wording -If you cannot pay all of the costs, the spell is cancelled and obliterated, and you have lost the action.
Everything else remains unchanged about the step
• Steep Hill
Steep hill will block Line of Sight if you cast a spell and it goes through two diagonal sections of the zone.
• Force Pull
Once per round, the Forcemaster may cast this quick Force spell. Target creature is Pushed 1 zone towards the source of this spell. Will not Push a creature through a wall with the Passage Attacks trait.
• Trample
- If a Flying creature attacks a non-Flying object, it loses Flying until the end of the attack.
- Elusive Creatures can ignore guards when making a Trample Attack
- Defenses that do not work against Melee attacks cannot be used during the Avoid Attack step, however all other types may be (choosing one during the step following normal rules).
• Symbiotic Orb

• Burns
Object is on fire. This is a flame condition. Each Upkeep Phase, roll 1 attack die of direct flame damage for each burn marker on each object. On a roll of “0,” remove that burn marker. Burn markers have a removal cost of 2.
additionally:
if after an effect assigns burns or freezes to a target, before resolving damage, if the condition's opposite (freeze and burn oppose each other) exists on the target, remove one of each until only one condition remains on the target. then proceed with final resolution normally.
• Dig in and Press the Attack only apply to the zone they are in
• Object Enchantments, equipment, creatures, and conjurations are spells which represents objects in the game, remaining in play after they are cast. The Mage is also considered an object. Incantation and attack spells do not become objects.
• Swarm (Please remember all non-mage objects are also spells)
Creatures with the Swarm trait cannot be targeted by non-attack actions or spells that do not specifically target Swarm creatures. When attacking, Creatures with the Swarm trait may make additional strikes equal to their remaining health. Additionally, they are immune to conditions, healing, and life gain that does not target swarms. Non-zone attacks do a maximum of 1 damage to them. Swarms cannot guard.
• The Embalmed
When summoning The Embalmed, remove target non-Epic Living creature in any discard pile from the game. This creature becomes a copy of the removed creature, gaining The Embalmed’s traits and subtypes. X= the removed creature’s mana cost
• ritual of kallek
this spell will be a full cast spell.
• pillar of righteous flame
will no longer attack enemy creatures that enter its zone.
the last 2 items are for data gathering to see if they help balance a few spells. for instance regarding ritual; all other mana gain spells are full actions. consider crumble, remove curse, disperse, and meditation amulet. ritual will join these as a full cast spell. also, for pillar, it would be good to see if removing the enter zone attack portion of the spell helps balance this powerful spell.

Are these changes in effect for the entire weekend, or are these just tournament rules. I will only be playing casually on Friday, so just need to know if I should replace the Pillar in some of my books.

considering hosting a mw weekend here perhaps in april. 4/15-17 or 4/29-5/1. see how many can make either and go from there. i suspect the mid-april is most likely but would like to get the most folks here. let me know who can make it and which dates work best.
