Title: Flying, LoS, and the definition of "Ignore"
Post by: jcox2820 on February 25, 2013, 01:36:51 PM
Do walls block LoS of a flying creature?

The rules say that flying creatures "ignore walls," which obviously means they can move past them and cannot take damage from them. Does this mean they can see past them as well?

The rule book defines the word "ignored," but only in the context of ignored creatures, and walls are not creatures.

Hi Jcox,

Walls do not block LoS to Flying creatures (Not sure the page in the Rulebook but it mentioned that everyone has LoS to flying creatures).

As you said flying creatures ignore walls. As they are ignoring the walls, the walls do not block the sight of a flying creature

If you go to the section in the rulebook where it talks about Walls, it plainly says that LoS in never blocked to or from a flying creature by a Wall.
However, there is an error in the rulebook where it gives a visual example of how LoS is determined, it clearly shows a flying creature in a zone, but treats it as a non-flying creature.
If you go to the Downloads (http://magewars.com/jsite/downloads) section, there is a link at the top right of the website in the red bar, there is an updated rulebook which replaces the flying creature with a Hydra, to make it correct, on page 17.
