I'd like to sleeve my cards, but would like to use Mage wars card sleeves. IMO for easier play if there are sets with the logo and different background color. That way there is never a fear of mixing cards if two people bring their separate boxes.
-
the problem with this is that the only kind of card sleeves that work are the cheap penny sleeves. i believe normal sleeves are to big.
-
I use KMC Matte sleeves and they fit great... I use red and blue to match the action markers

Yup Duke is correct KMC is one of my top choices also
-
Are the MW's cards MTG cut or Yugioh size cuts? I've yet to compare because I sold those money sinks
-
They are standard size.
-
Standard meaning magic size right?

right

Standard means 2.5" by 3.5"

So then the OP could just use any sleeve they want? Problem solved :cheer:
-
Yes but the KMC I found do not stick as often as some other sleeves when used with binders.
-
The spellbooks are intentionally designed to accommodate sleeved cards.
To Texan85: I hear ya! I am dying to get my hands on some Mage Wars themed sleeves!
So aside from KMC (which sounds great), what other experiences are people having with sleeving the cards?
-
Any good Matte Sleeve will prevent the card from sticking in the binder
KMC, Ultra Pro, and Max all make nice Matte Sleeves
You will want to use the same brand in a spell book the colors tend to be slightly different between brands.
-
I use Ultra Pro matte sleeves in four different colours and they work great in the spellbooks.
-
Are there "mage wars" sleeves in the works? I agree with the OP. I'd LOVE to see colored sleeves with the Mage Wars logo on them so players would not have to worry about accidentally mixing their cards up with another players.

Using ultra pro deck protectors in black w/ the rough backs (both new, tighter-fit ones and their older ones) and they both fit just fine. No sticking at all.
But i want to get Dragon Shield sleeves in diff. Colors, as they don't have the annoying hologram that covers up text at times...can someone confirm the fit of those in the spellbooks pls?
also, ive found that it's better for me to 'bottom-load' the cards in the sleeves so that the open edge is on the bottom, which makes it easier to pull them out of the books when playing.

Dragon Shields fit in the spellbooks.
-
My biggest prob with dragon shields is often the same batch is cut in different sizes.
-
I've been using penny sleeves to protect all my Mage Wars cards. They are a bit larger than the cards but the spellbooks have no issues in holding the cards in penny sleeves. I would like to get colored Ultra Pro sleeves at some point for all the mages out.
-
I'm using Ultra Pro Pro-Fit sleeves. They're technically meant for double-sleeving cards, but I like them as single sleeves instead.
-
I use Fantasy Flight Supply colored sleeves. They fit perfectly in the binder and the five different colors help me to keep my various decks apart on the field.

Mayday has a (new) line of different colored matte premium gaming sleeves. They come in packs of 80. I have yet to notice any sleeves having different length cuts and I have been happy with the quality. They are cut to match height exactly so there is no overlap at the top at all (on the opposite end of dragon shields which have the largest extra height I know of). This can be a good or bad thing depending on your preference.
