Title: Spectating Mage Wars
Post by: residualshade on January 14, 2013, 09:23:06 PM
is it just me or is watching a game of mage wars rather enjoyable? i got into the game after watching the critical play videos, and now wish i had similar playthroughs to watch.

When our group gets the duels going, it's actually a fun experience spectating the duel in progress.  This is different from the other games, including Magic, where if you aren't in the game, you find something else to do (deckbuilding, etc.).

I personally enjoy watching the game as I feel the open spellbook concept really makes it seem more of a "real" match than a MtG duel.  While I know what each player can do potentially in either game, knowing that the players aren't limited to a random draw to act/react makes all the difference for me in spectating.  Well, in playing too...

Totally agreed - I would love to see more videos of some actual play.

Maybe I can get something worked out for Bashcon (http://www.bashcon.com/) events.

Same here, the critical review full game is why I bought the game. I was hesitant till I watched all 4 and I had to get this game.

So, bashcon is at Toledo, OH? I might actually go to that! (I live in Pittsburgh, wouldn't mind staying the night for a tourney).
