Anyone had success with mheggedan and sunfire amulet turn 1 with a warlock?

Thats def an option! I have done that many times and run it in most of my books. On the other side of that a well timed jinx or nullify, or lack of mana i can devote to that card mid to late game, have been my bane with this card on occasion.
I love the card though and completely agree

A card from Academy.
It hits for 5 dice and has nice hp / armor for the cost of just 6 mana.
The downside is that he cannot do anything for 3 rounds and your mage reduces his total life with 6.

It's a legendary demon from Academy Warlock expansion. Unfortunately I can't find a picture of it on the internet because none of the card databases have been updated since Domination. You can probably see it in an unboxing video (eg Dice Tower preview of the Priestess and Warlock expansions (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyVXisrYP_c)).

If I recall correctly:
He enters with 3 "sealed" tokens. While he has a sealed token, he cannot move or attack, and gains the Pest trait.
Each upkeep, you remove 1 sealed token and your Mage gets Life -2. In other words, he becomes active after 3 upkeeps and your Mage suffers Life -6 net. But at that point, you've got a very strong demon that didn't cost much mana. A good target for Demonic Link, too (also in the same expansion).

After looking at the cards I think this is a valid tactic, in my local meta most people won't want to waste dissolve on the sunfire amulet. There are many games where I end up with more than the 6 life you'd be giving up. He would be active on turn four so if you run him you would want to make sure you cast him turn one and can protect him that long. I also believe he is a minor creature so it would be cool to see some of those enchants come into play. Overall I think it would be interesting to see what a full book based on this opening would look like. I would build one but I'm not too familiar with warlock as I have never really played him seriously.

I'm of the opinion that M's a fantastic card (he's level 4,btw). I've never felt the need for sunfire amulet to replenish the life loss. I solve that issue by throwing more damage onto the other mage. I've been back and forth on using drain soul and currently operate under the "I can spend the sbp elsewhere" school of thought. Mheg's a high enough threat to make up for his cost as is, in my experience

Dang lvl 4, would've been cool to see some of the Academy enchantments. Once I get Academy warlock, the first warlock I make will definitely have mheggedan in it. I think the 3 turn and cost for what you get is well worth it. What type of deck would you guys run him in?

I think megheddon is one of the only academy cards that's better in Arena than Academy. The 6 life hurts more in Academy.

I think Leather Chausses and Remove Curse top that list, but yes, I wouldn't disagree it's better in Arena. Not convinced it's good enough though...
