Title: Mage Wars Mondays: Long Way Back
Post by: Laddinfance on September 29, 2015, 11:56:00 AM
Everyone, we (Scott, Rick, and Myself) wanted you to know that we haven't forgotten about MWM's, but it's been a long way back to being able to record. With that in mind, Scott and I will be recording tonight and wanted to know what you'd like to hear about? Thank you all for your support!

If you could redesign one thing about Mage Wars, what would it be?

And would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses or 1 horse sized duck?

Or wait, the thread I linked to is the wrong one. I'm having a lot of trouble finding the thread I'm looking for. It was a thread where they asked the same question and I can't find it.

Maybe you could talk about PvS or the Archmage. Or about how to play the warlord.

Or about how to play the warlord.

This was done a while back. The MW Monday episode for it can be viewed   -->HERE<-- (http://www.letslevelup.net/mage-wars-mondays-10-warlord-spotlight/)

Personally I'd like to hear about Paladin VS Siren, I'm dying for some news. (Balance in Power works too)
Thanks for letting us give feedback on what we'd like to see, look forward to the Podcast!  ;D

Moonday was also my guess :)

My question. Will be next small expansion Wizard lady vs. Forcemaster and will Barbarian mage have chanelling? :)

I can only speak to what I'm working on. So from that aspect, after PVS I"m looking to work on the next spell tome, currently the Wizard and Forcemaster. As for the Barbarian, as I've designed him so far he does channel, though it's a bit flexible.

Whether he can channel or not is flexible huh? So then there could potentially be mages in the future that don't channel or have a very low channeling stat. That means they would have to gain mana some other way to cast spells. Now that I think about it, mana drain +x causes defender's controller to lose mana. mana transfer +x causes defender's controller to lose mana and for attacker's controller to gain mana. What if there was an attack trait that just causes attacker's controller to gain mana when the defender is damaged, but did not affect the mana supply of the defender's controller? That would be great for a Mage that wants to start attacking immediately and ramp up. Maybe he would have some innate armor and access to cheap incantations that buff him in the early game. Would be great for a nature/war Mage.

Wait...that sounds like a barbarian. It would be really funny if I had guessed what the barbarian would generally be like just from your mentioning that he might not have channeling. Hmm, if I'm right, how high his innate channeling will be probably depends on whether the starting mana supply of 10 mana is enough for him to start attacking and damaging an enemy creature by round 2 or 3.

To be clear, right now he channels, just the amount tends to change.
