Thank you for beating me to this. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar, and your beauty is only exceeded by your generosity.

50 minutes of pleasure :) it doesnt matter that 20 minutes was about different games and last minutes about upcoming event. Still, it was pleasurable podcast and i hunger for more :)

Technically the only thing this podcast tells us about Mage Wars Academy itself is that it has a two-zones only arena. Everything else of note relating to Academy is about the design process, in particular, the two main hurdles that they had to overcome to make Academy.
Still, even that little tidbit of info was enough to really spark my imagination. I can't wait for the next podcast!

I'm excited to tell you all more, as soon as I can. If you know any stores going to the Gama Trade Show, we may have some Academy stuff there to show them. I'm very excited to tell you all more, and plan to do so as soon as possible.

I think its nice to know, how things are created. Sometimes, i met ppl who thinks, that board game can be created over weekend with a pencil, paper and bottle of Scotch.
More and more i value each card as its own little masterpiece. Not all are ground breaking, some of there are just out of balancing things but when you look at some spells really close, you can see those thoughts and hours spend over it. Nice example is Sniper and its Attack dice pool mechanic. There are moore cards then this :)
I cant wait for MW: Academy :)

Man she is one lucky little princess to get a tittle at such a young age! Congrats!

You flatter me ;) What is her actual name?

We shall call the banners to her side and set our sights upon the Iron Throne next, so that one day she may call herself Princess of the Seven Kingdoms! Or at least of Rick's household :P
Back to Academy, some concept cover art was revealed today.

Huh?! Will there be several versions of Academy, each featuring only two mages?
-
I am not an AW employee but my guess is yes. One box = two mages.
Priestes vs Warlock
Beastmaster vs Wizard
Warlord vs Forcemaster
Priest vs Beastmistress
Druid vs Necromancer
Warlord vs Warlock lady etc etc etc
Pairing will probably be not same as in their Arena boxes but who knows :)

Right now we're still working on exactly how we want to release them. But, there will be some follow-up sets to the "starter" releasing.

I'm guessing that's not the academy core set then. Otherwise it would say so on the cover art. Which means the academy core set will have different mages than the arena core set. Hmmm...

I wouldn't read too much into prototype box art. ;-)
