Mr. Bryan Pope and Mr. Scott "Tox" Morris were both on a live hangout with Dallas - Fort Worth Nerd Night yesterday.
The video can be seen -->HERE<-- (http://www.arcanewonders.com/arcane-wonders/arcane-wonders-on-dfw-nerd-night)
Highlights include a discussion and play of Sheriff of Nottingham, talking about the second product of the Dice Towers Essentials line, City of Gears, and of course, Mage Wars stuff. Check out the video, it was pretty awesome.
Some screenshots of MW stuffs:

Apparently this spell above is in Battlegrounds and turns the power orb into a tower that pushes away enemy creatures.

This one was said to be called "Astral Anchor" and it works against teleport!

Bryan said this was a "cascading force push" and said it was basically a force push that kept going and going and going.

He said this was "Empowered mending" which lets you use the power you get from the orbs to heal your creatures.

This one makes one of your creatures stronger as long as it's in the same zone as an orb you're trying to protect.

Just WOW :)
I listen to the whole video. In a first moment, when there was a screen of Mr. Pope, i just pause it and carefully study his monitor for at least 10 minutes :D
Glad they show pictures of them at the end. And boy! How i am excited to get my hands on MW:Battlegrounds right now! :)

Hmm,
i must say, i still need to watch the new art. I like it alot!
Will there be actuall wallpapers in a future bearing this and older art? I would really upgrade my desktop :)
I know about FiF wallpapers but they seems to be more promotional thing.

Soo, the priestess apprentice is kinda reasonably clothed (by fantasy standarts), priestess is much more revealing, angels wear barely anything, is this a common theme in the church of Asyra that the higher "rank" you are, the more naked you become? And does Asyra herself walk around completely naked? :)
Don't want to start another discussion here, just tongue in cheek observation ;)
So the dwarf is being thrown away by the orb? At first I thought he is in middle of jumping attack, but I can see it now.

That first picture with both the Paladin and Siren is absolutely amazing. I would make that my wallpaper in a heartbeat.
Not to say the other art is bad, they are awesome too. I just really like that first one.

Bryan said that the MW Academy product is a game that can be played in 15-20 minutes, and the mages from that game are supposed to be younger versions of the current mages.
So I would expect them to release all of the other mages for Academy as well. Hopefully this will be a way to get some more magic players to pick up Mage Wars as well.
-
Yeah I really like that they've made a more battle-ready priestess. They should totally replace the regular priestess card with the academy one or something like it. This one also is in a fighting stance instead of a provocative pose. Much better!

Yeah, I second it. Also, if they were for widescreen as well, I would be even happier.

Awesome. Can't wait for this stuff!
And hellllooooo siren. I think you'll be seeing a fair bit of table time.
-
Mmmmm the last picture seems a mass teleport or a portal, i hope soon we´ll see more spoilers and i cant wait for siren vs paladin
The art incoming it´s very very good.
i like it!!!!
Pd: i don´t see any plant creature, i´m sad....

None of the Art shown during the PodCast was for PvS, it was all for Battlegrounds.

ahemmm, look at the first screen shot above.......
-
Love that art! Surely that top picture will be the cover art for PvS.

The siren looks more Dark and Water rather than Mind and Water with the demeanor of the creatures at her bidding in this image.
Is that a skeleton I see behind her in the water?
-
I was thinking just the same :D claimed bodies from the sea :D

Is that a skeleton I see behind her in the water?
But she clearly has a Forcefield around her. Maybe she is trained Mind/Water with level 2 Dark?

I don't see a Forcefield. Just water. Same color though.

Yeah, water that stay away of her at equal distance as a spheric shape... I call that a Forcefield :P

I don't. Forcefields are barriers of pure force. I suspect it's actually a damage barrier. :P

No, I mean the water stay away because there is a forcefield pushing it away.
-
But we know force fields are visable. I think that illustration is just showing that she controls the water, they are unnatural shapes for waves.
If anything it will be a water damage barrier or shield. But its not made if force. Force is visable in mage wars art.
-
maybe the syren will be dark school, i hope not, because if they make new water spells (maybe a attack spell with an easy push), and you add mind school, maybe water+mind would be too powerful.
I don´t understand one thing yet, The siren would have an special arena, maybe a water-arena? maybe she fights in Bathroom? xd
She would have Flame +2?
She would need air to breath? xd
Well, i know that would be a very interesting mage, paladyn for me seems too obvious.

Uh, I want that kraken. Now.
