Title: Rune of Power with the Horn of Gothos?
Post by: Maverick on August 29, 2014, 02:48:44 AM
Does the Rune of Power work with the Horn of Gothos? I am contemplating a Dwarf warlord that uses the Horn of Gothos with the Ring of Command for cheap full battlefield command spells. Anyone rules savvy know the answer?   :o

I do not have the rulebook in front of me, but as i recall the rune of power can be used with an item you bind a spell to.

As you are not binding a spell to horn of Gothos you will not be able to 'enchant it' with the Rune of Power.

The Rune of Power reduces the mana cost of spells granted by equipment basically. This includes any equipment which has a spell spellbound to it, as well as any equipment which has an innate spell that you may cast. Horn of Gothos is neither of these. It extends the range of your spells, but it does not grant a spell itself.

yup, rune of power is ONLY for items which provide a quickcast. The horn alters a quickcast you already have. you cant put the rune on a discount ring either by the way.
