Hi First time here and I have a question about card sleeves. What type is the best fit to allow for the cards to still fit into the tome slots, but not get the sleeves stuck in the slots? Also what is the mm size of the card sleeves that fit best?
I would like to protect the new cards for as long as possible.
Thanks!

I really like the Ultra-Pro Pro-Matte sleeves. They are easier to pull out of your spellbook. I have used the regular Ultra-Pro's and Dragon Shields. They both work well, though the Dragon Shields are a bit tall, but not much. Of course the only down side to the Ultra's is the little silver hologram at the bottom of the sleeves....

Do you know the exact mm size that's written on the packaging of the sleeves? (mm x mm) I see all kinds of sizes but am not sure of the exact size that is needed. Thanks for the reply.

Yes the regular mattes are good but I am loving the Hypers. I also use side load binders for my tourney books.

I use dragon shields myself

I have seen too many miss cuts from Dragon shield to trust the line

I used a few dragon a long time back for MTG cards and had the same problem with different sized sleeves in the same pack even..(not sure how they managed that one)

Which being twice as expensive as everyone else is totally unacceptable!

I have never had any problems with them being mis-sized or splitting on me

I would consider yourself to be the one and only...lol Glad they worked for ya.
Me I've had bad experiences so I will not be getting those, of course there are bad days on any assembly line so I suppose other brands could also be crap.
Luckily I buy a lot through Amazon so returns are a snap.

I make two people then. I've never had trouble with them. Though I have known a few people who've had small issues with them. But all the extra sleeves they ended up with in the pack fixed it.

In a case I have seen 5 different sizes.

All right I believe this topic has run its course unless someone new has another type of sleeve to add.
Just plain going back and forth about the sleeve "cut" is not what I was hoping for this tread to accomplish,
Just like in Star Wars "Stay on Target!" ;)
Thanks for the entries though guys I do appreciate the thoughts!

I just went to the FFS page and found that they do not even carry the size that you mentioned earlier on in this thread (66mm x 91mm). What they do have is (63.5 x 88 MM) Do these still fit around the cards? It seems odd that they would be selling there card sleeves for cards of their games but that they would not fit any other cards from other games. You are sure about your size above? (no that your lying)...lol

I know I can look up the size in mm but I am at work and have limited access

The Mage Wars cards themselves are 63mm by 88mm according to Patrick Connor (http://boardgamegeek.com/article/9633609#9633609) who works for Arcane Wonders (I believe as communications director). Anything that fits that size will work fine. The FFS sleeves might fit them in width (although it would be very snug), but I'd be worried about the card peeking out the top of the sleeve if both the sleeve and card are the exact same height. Standard sleeves are normally 66mm x 91mm from what I see being sold by other places, and they probably fit the cards much better.

I am thinking that the FFS sleeves are not in the running for my new cards, so I'll try some other sleeves, not sure which yet though as there are several choices.
Thanks
