Ok I just saw the pictures of the Gama Trade Show in Las Vegas. One of them had miniatures for the Wizard, Priestess, Warlord, and Necromancer. Let us now begin the epic discussion of how awesome this is!

Pics or it didn't happen ;)

I love them!

Transport just became more challenging, but in a good way. :)
-
I am really curious, how they will solve floating ForceMaster or "lightning" wizzard :)
-
Yeah I'm pretty much right there with you Winter.

Just this past week I picked up about a dozen different mage-y minis from the Reaper Bones line of minis, for $2-3 apiece. Played with them for the first time yesterday and loved it. Frees up a ton of space in the zone and just adds a ton of character to the game.

I'll probably be a minority, but I liked the fact that this game didn't have any miniatures ( I have plenty of them already and could use any stand in if I wanted ) as I find the Mage cards very nicely done and much better looking than any miniature of the MageKnight/D&D quality class.

I agree.
-
Well, since the mage card had no use beside representing the mage, i like the miniature idea. It make the mage to stand out. I would not use miniature for other creatures. I hope they will make the base of miniature able to hold both counters.
-
I just hope that they are already painted and are ready to go....

Yes. They are better to be prepainted, else I wont buy them.
-
i prefer that this game dont have miniatures, maybe one for the mage, but for all cards...., this would be bad for the game, because a expesive game lost many players.
-
I'm hoping that the miniatures will be optional and maybe for a different version of the game. I would hope they're made out of plastic so I can afford them though.
-
I think these will be more of an accessory than anything else. Much like the extra spellbooks, you only need to buy them if you want them. I also doubt they will be making minis for anything other than the Mages, although I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure it would be extremely expensive to produce minis for every card, which means it would be expensive for us to purchase them.

It is just to be cool (to not say AWESOME!). Instead of a card, you have a 3D model of your mage.
-
I know the price of prepainted minis has gone through the roof; It'll be interesting to see how that plays out here.
-
There probably is a bit of practicality involved also, the current mage cards and their zone can get a little buried in cards, the miniature, depending on base size could alleviate the clutter slightly.
