Title: Succssful attack and chain lightning
Post by: Caamora on January 21, 2014, 06:36:39 AM
If you hit a target and do zero damage but get a result on the effect die.. Is that enough to continue to another target with chain lightning or does the target need to be damaged?  What if the effect die missed as well.. does the effect continue as the target did not avoid the attack?  I guess the question is what is a successful attack?

the text on the card says:
"each time Chain lightning damages a target......"

Daze/stun is not damage. If the attack stops because of a succesful defense, a fail daze roll or a block then the sequence stops just like not enough damage rolled to put damage counters on the target.

the word "successful" does not appear on the card. i believe "successive" means "following".

But does it need to damage through the creature's armor or do you just need to not roll all blanks?

The defending creature has to actually take damage, so if your total dice roll is prevented by armor then that creature was not dealt damage.
