Last week, I played a team game with Beastmaster and Priestess against Wizard and Warlock. The W&W completed smashed B&P. The Wizard played upkeep on all creatures and -2 channeling to Beastmaster, and the Warlock had Finite Life out. It pretty much prevented B from summoning more than a couple creatures, and the P healing powers were completely negated. Thankfully, he didn't play Idol of Pestilence as well or the game would have been even shorter!
Has anyone else found the Warlock overpowering against the Priestess?
-
Well, I think you need to clarify what you played during that game, because I have not found the Warlock to be overpowered, and especially not against the priestess. If anything, the Priestess has an advantage of being the only mage that can remove burns without a water spell. Give us an idea of what you did during the game and I think we could help you out better.

Yes, the Warlock gives the Priestess fits. His native set of Spells are a lot more effective against the Priestess than visa a versa. The trick is the Big 1 or 2 strategy....

None of the mages are overpowered. Sure, some mages might work better against others, but none of them are individually superior.

Warlord is not on the same level as everyone else. <- Fact not an opinion
:D

I hate to agree with you, but the Warlord does seem objectively weaker than the other mages. I don't think he excels in anything and there isn't much he can do that others mages can't do (or do better).

Here is a fun game:
Build a warlord spellbook.
Now take that book and switch the archetype to Earth mage. Switch out warlord only for wizard only. You now have more spell points to add to your deck and you just became a harder to defeat mage.

be the guy who has a killer warlord build go to a play event and win because nobody expects the ork.
