So I understand QC and the action phases, but not exactly what actions I can take during the action phase. I can move and cast a quick spell; move and melee; and move twice. That I get. But can a mage melee twice, or cast a quick spell then melee, or melee and then quick spell? All of these would be with no movement, and would be independent of the QC phase.

:) Welcome to the forums linder!!!! :)
QUICK ACTIONS
• Make a Quick Attack
• Cast a Quick Spell
• Guard
• Take another Move Action
FULL ACTIONS
• Make a Full Attack
• Cast a Full Spell
To better answer your question. No, you may not attack twice. You cant trade you actions for other actions. (Like you can in D&D)
And you must move first or not at all, you may not preform an action and then move.
You may. Move-do nothing. Move-move. Move-quick action. Full Action.
Hope that helps!
And not to make things more complicated but a mage may use their "Quick cast marker" to cast quick spells before or after any creature activates....so that opens up a lot of possibility.
"can a mage melee twice, or cast a quick spell then melee, or melee and then quick spell?"- None of these are possible using the one action granted by the action marker.
