Reanimate eternal servant and growth markers
« on: January 15, 2015, 02:35:33 AM »
If you have that zombie guy who can get growth markers, by eating zombies - do you discard or keep the growth markers when he is destroyed and reanimated, if he's an eternal servant?

You discard them. All markers that were on a card are lost when it is reanimated.

It never came into play, but after the guy with 4 growth markers chewed through my wifes trees, she was shocked that he could be revied. Good balance, cheers :-)

The thing to remember is that he does get destroyed before being reanimated. That means he is discarded and all cards and tokens attached to him get discarded as well. Then when you reanimate him, it is akin to summoning him fresh all over again.

However, if you are referring to [mwcard=DNC12]Shaggoth-Zora[/mwcard] as I suspect you are, then you actually made a rules error. You can not make a Legendary creature into your Eternal Servant.

You cannot make Shaggoth-Zora your Undying Servant. Shaggy is a legendary creature and so cannot become an Undying Servant. However, as noted if you had a way to reanimate him he would in fact lose his growth markers.
