Title: Blur and "Hit"
Post by: sIKE on December 27, 2015, 06:54:41 PM
The term "Hit" means that the attack was not avoided in the Avoid Attack step of the Attack sequence, just like when you "Hit" an Orb, correct?

I beleive Sike is technically correct. An attack is considered to have "Hit" if it wasnt avoided during the avoid attack step.

No, attack still can miss if target or attacker is teleported before damage and effect step. There's even sentence in the rules that once attack sequence gets to that step the attack is considered to hit.

But now you're talking about effects that only happen during the avoid attack step. Besides that there's only one spell in the whole game currently that can do what you are talking about. Divine intervention. And that's an exclusive spell.

Core Rulebook page 25, under damage and effects, "With this step an attack has officially “hit” its target."

So an attack has to make it to damage and effects to officially "hit".

:( I've mentioned that earlier. Just didn't have rulebook close to quote exact sentence.

This was less of a lore thing more of a THAC0 thing.....how attacks, armor, and avoiding attacks work much differently in the two systems.
