I'm so ready to rebuild my Malakai priest spell book around this one... any takers?

93
I was really wanting to name this "Necromancing the Stone" but I held off :)

I think this would be a really good idea. If Arcane Wonders decides not to, I'll probably attempt to build them myself, with or without help, although it will probably be really difficult without help. Are there any plans for making 2v2 preconstructed spellbooks, and if not, would anyone be willing to help me design and test them?

Thanks!

We haven't come out with anything official on this but I will talk with Laddinfance as I think this is an interesting idea for us to publish a list of.  In the meantime, I'd love to hear the "tag teams" people are playing in 2V2.  I don't play 2 v 2 as much as I'd like, but the last time we played we did a Double Beast Master (Straywood & Johktari) vs a Priestess and Druid team.  They were formidable, but the kittens took them down over time :)

I must say, i am impressed. More and  more i want to try a demon swarm build. I had a cold shoulder for new warlock from the start but with each preview, she ignites something deep in my hearth :)

I've playtested a demon swarm build with her and it is a lot of fun.  Now mind you, while being VP I'm still what I would consider a "Casual" player, and Laddinfance has handed me my lunch three times in a row now, but I can say that this with pentagram and some cheap demons becomes pretty sweet!  I too like the 5 mana cost, as you can use a Battleforge early, let is build up slightly while you case a creature or 3 and then bloodfire helmet and go to town early on some unsuspecting soul... literally :)

This is the first set in a while, that as a fan, I'm having a hard time choosing my preferred mage from it.  I think that's a good thing though :)

General Discussion / Re: Anvil Throne Walord Card List
« on: May 16, 2014, 07:11:28 AM »
So I think I figured out the Anvil Throne Warlord's card list from Scott's "From the Board Room" post yesterday.  Note that I haven't yet bothered to determine the amount of each card, just what (I'm pretty sure) they are.  I'll try to update with amounts later.  Also, if you look closely in the video you'll notice that all the spells that come in the base set are denoted by what looks like an asterisk or number (and one's that don't are not  :P).  Lastly, cards that I had to make my best educated guess at (because they haven't been spoiled) I put an asterisk next to.

Equipment:

Deflection Bracers
Eisenach's Forge Hammer
Elemental Cloak
Elemental Wand
Gurmash's Signal Ring*
Harshforge Plate
Helm of Command
Horn of Gothos
Ivarium Longbow
Morning Flail
Regrowth belt

Conjurations:

Altar of Carnage
Archer's Watchtower
Armory
Barracks
Battle Forge
Construction Yard
Harshforge Monolith
Wall of Earth

Creatures:

Anvil Throne Crossbowman*
Bloodcrag Minotaur
Dwarf Kreigsbeil
Goblin Alchemist
Grimson Deadeye, Sniper
Gurmash, Orc Sergeant
Otto Kronig, Master Engineer
Sir Corazin, Blademaster

Enchantments:

Brace Yourself
Nullify
Standard Bearer

Incantations:

Battle Fury
Conquer
Defend
Dispel
Dissolve
Flame Attack
Force Push
Rouse the Beast
Sniper Shot

Attacks:

Hurl Boulder
Hurl Rock

Wow, and I thought I was purposefully out of focus to hide a bit... well done.  I won't confirm or deny anything here, but this is a great thought proviking list :)  I see it will be hard to do videos and keep things "hidden" from this one... the force is strong with him :)

I'm really glad everyone is enjoying the video showcasing the new box, it's pretty sweet if I do say so myself.  That said, we "may" have intentionally left Sardonyx sideways and slightly blurred as to not completely spoil him... or her... or whatever a "blight of the living" really is :)

I can say this, Sardonyx is a beast, literally!  But one so powerful does not come to do a mage's bidding lightly :)

PS - Good idea on the CoK box if we reprint it... no promises but you never know.

When I first started playing, we rolled initiative every round instead of passing it back and forth  (incidentally, it does make for an interesting game mode to try sometime.  very chaotic).

Wow, that's a cool idea, I am going to try that!  Do you roll before planning I presume?

Well, Tim and Carmen are new to the game, and mentioned that at the beginning of the game.  I made mistakes like that when I started playing too.  When I go back and look at my videos I cringe sometimes at the mistakes.  We all start spell casting somewhere :)

Just so everyone knows, our favorite creative director provided me an updated image with a correction to Fireweaving, I think those that had issues with it may like it more now. :)

EDIT: Fireweaving was incorrectly stated in the first reveal, this is the correct image.

Thanks so much!  That play through was a while ago, and truth be told, some of our first games, so please forgive the noob-ish mistakes.  It was also pre-errata on the temples, but all that said, it was a blast then and it's a blast now!

Looking forward to hearing more from everyone here on the forums as well as we all grow Mage Wars and play this awesome game!
