No worries, we posted the wrong images so it's our fault.  Just wanted to clarify with everyone.

Hi Everyone,

The image of Rhino Hide, in both the distorted preview and the update this morning, are incorrect.  The correct images, and the reveal of Bear Strength is correct and online currently.

I am VERY sorry for any confusion or churn this caused, and as some astute people may have caught, the image for Rhino hide was inaccurate as well, as the costs were wrong.  Probably a good tip off that wouldn't be the promo we'd be giving out but I wanted to clear things up.

Here is today's revealed card:

Hey guys, I just added Part I to our facebook page.  Please do feel free to let me know whenever you have new ones up.  Additionally, the facebook page should be open for fans to share things like this directly as well, and if you do, we'll be happy to "like" it to ensure others see it.

Great job, I love user content like this!

League / Tournament Play / Re: Essen 2014

Good question.  I'm not sure on that.  I know we have European partners and German partners that have English version.  If they are bringing them to Essen or not, or if their customers (the retailers) will, but I know they exist there.

Do you guys see more localized language versions than English versions normally (like just in shops)?

Hellow fellow gamers,

I`m playing MW for 3months now and I really like it!!

Now I`m thinking of starting a little tournament in my local gamestore.

I`ve already seen tournaments of Warhammer Fantasy, 40K, Malifaux,... But never one of MW.
So my question is:`` How do I do this?``

Is there a certain rulespack? Is it also with the swiss-pairings?
Spellbooks? I only have one Core set so it is shure not enough for a tournement, where do I get more arena`s?

I know it are alot of questions.... but if they all got answered I would be a real happy gamer ;)

Thanks in advance
Maximuss

Hello HerrMaximuss, this is great to hear!  We have an organized play system where your local retailer can purchase a kit fro $12 from almost any distributor they work with (If they say their distributor doesn't have them, just let me know and I can help with that, but they should).  The latest, OP KIt #5 is Malignant Intentions.  These kits come with promo cards for prize support, and can be run by the store, by an ambassador (if one is local) or sometimes shop owners let a passionate fan like yourself run with them as well.

In any case, they provide story background and objectives for organized play.  If you'd like to see the story guide for the last kit, OP Kit 4, converging Front, for an example, you can see it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/42qp5s3pm4e3stm/Converging%20Fronts%20-%20WEB.pdf

The kits come with promo cards, event posters and the story guides.  Promo cards are offered to winners, as well as people who have completed story objectives in the course of play.

From there, it's a matter of coordinating the community, which can be the trickiest.  I suggest a few things to everyone doing this for the first time.  First, use the local store as much as possible.  Banners, flyers, anything that can be shared locally to let those coming into the store that you plan on organizing play is a good thing.

Second, post the event times and days on both our fourm's events section, and our facebook page (facebook.com/magewars).  Those drive a lot of awareness.

Big thing is identifying who is who in your neck of the woods that is interested and ensuring they know they can play at a local store, where and when.

Let me know if I can help at all.  My email is scottmorris[at]arcanewonders.com, hit me up anytime.  Hope all this helps.

Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately, we won't be attending Essen in person.  Our games will be there of course, with local retailers selling them onsite, and we even have a few people who will be demoing Sheriff o Nottingham as it's release is October 10th.

If there are local ambassadors that could potentially assist (as mentioned above by fas723) and an ability to coordinate a tournament, I'd love to chat with you guys about it.  Please email me at ScottMorris[at]arcanewonders.com and we can discuss it in detail to see if/how we can work something out.

Hello everyone,

Toni Darling, our guest at Gen Con 2014, has a new video online today where she talks about Apprentice Mode and specifically, the Beastmaster!

Here is the main post about the article: http://www.arcanewonders.com/arcane-wonders/enter-the-arena-with-toni-darling

Here is the video directly:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggMKjSOzmOA

As a reminder, the goal of these videos are to follow Toni's experiences as a new player to our game.  Her fans are already very excited about Mage Wars and we hope you enjoy watching a new player experience the game we love so much, for the first time.

Hi everyone,

We just finished up contracting with a Spanish publisher for Spanish translation and distribution.  As soon as we have more details, we'll be happy to share them.

Currently, we are working with companies worldwide to translate to German, Chinese, French, Italian, and Russian and we are looking into Polish and a few others as well.

As we have more details, we will share them.  Right now, our game is available in English, Chinese, French, Italian and Russian, with again, Spanish just recently signed and in the works.

I hope this helps.

The comments in the store online at AW of "yellow/green" is a typo we will be fixing today.  If you order the Action Marker Set 02, we will send Purple/Gray :)

Strategy and Tactics / Re: On: Openings

Great post here, it's excellent to see more people talking about openings.  I personally have been playing a ton of the Necromancer lately, and I tend to open with the Death Ring and the Libro in almost every single circumstance.  It becomes a powerful advantage and mana generation combination I've come to love.  Thanks so much for posting this!

It was quite amazing to note that the winner never played a game until Friday before AND made a spellbook out of nothing but the core set to win.  Well done! :)

Good write up!  Considering we didn't send you a set to review, this is an amazing write up.  Keep up the great work, it's fan sites like yours that help drive awareness of such great games and infuse others with a passion for playing! :)

aww, I guess I'll remove my FIF reveal of these.  I waited a couple minutes to make sure you guys had a chance to post it but oh well. Talos is that 28 mana creature i saw in the FIF unboxing. It looks like he will be good with war incantations.

I almost did that too lol. We would have had 3 of the same posts. I figured they'd be posting this one themselves though.

We try to post as soon as possible once the main post is up.  With Facebook, Twitter, BGG, forums, and of course, the presidential library, it's a long list of postings to make, but thank you guys for keeping us on our toes :)
