Title: cataclysmic event?
Post by: dkartzinel on January 09, 2013, 11:08:14 AM
Hello everyone!  Okay, so I'm relatively new to Mage Wars (read: just found out about it last week and am getting my copy today), but I was curious, some of the background hints at a cataclysmic event that led to the foundation of the Mage Wars, is there any more information on that?  Or is that still to be revealed?

Greetings Student of the Arcane,

The expedient answer to your query is that magic and its unrestrained use, particularly in the crafting of conflict, leads to tremendous collateral devastation. Consider the chaos of hundreds of Mages hurling spells across the landscape with little regard for the lands they scorched and the peoples they obliterated. Change was inevitable. While the rulers of Westlock brokered the peace and the ensuing Mage War Accords, they did not do so alone.

Perhaps more history can be discussed later.

I assumed it had something to do with the Demonic Occupation as well.
