I was wondering if there are more possible synergies to cooperate with the new academy warlock demonhide mask? It turns the mage into a demon.
What I have found so far:
- I get Piercing +1 without anything else
- as adramelech I could get a “demonic reward“ and heal 1 damage if I attack and damage a burning creature
- with “demonic link“ (which should be an legal mage enchantment as long as I wear the mask) I get melee +1 and also heal 1 if attacking and damaging a living creature
- with “eye of bael“ I could gain 1 mana each round by attacking and damaging an enemy creatue. But i am forced to attack each round if I don't want to get hurt 1 damage as penalty.
- “Drakas, Imp Overlord“ could be a good zone-buddy and give me melee +1, but he will also do 1 damage to me if I am the only other demon in his zone at upkeep.
Besides that, my mage will not jump out of gate to hell, so that demon-synergy is useless here.
Do you find more?
So without all risks and logistic needs I could totally get max:
+1 Piercing
+ 2 melee
Heal 2
Gain 1 mana
Seems interesting, but needs effort and is risky.
What do you think of this mask?

The ability to make flameblast and fireball have piercing is quite good. Also there is a fun transfuse trick to buff yourself as well XD

IIRC the Mask's text Demonic link will only be legal during attack action. After attack ends You're not considered demon anymore. This also means that You won't get damage from Drakas.

Coshade: Yeah you are right, piercing always helps.
I don't see the transfuse trick made possible by the mask. Give me a hint ;)

Kaarin: the mask itself gives the mage the subtype demon regardless of demonic linc. So I think Drakas will see a demon in me... But I am not sure with all of this :)

Kaarin is right. You turn into a demon only during attacking. Drakas will not hurt you during upkeep because of this. Transfusing Demonic Link is really good, just expensive to do ;D

Yep. Thanks for pointing that out Kaarin. I would not have seen this. Actually this means the benefits remain, but Drakas won't hurt. Nice!
Now I also understand the transfuse trick. Demonic link is not constantly attachable to the mage. It could be transferred to and from him during the attack to get some advantage and not lose the card afterwords. But that's very theoretically and no one would ever use it.

Its illegal to cast the demonic link on you by normal means and if you would use ET, it would be destroyed after the attack. Seems like a waste to me.
Synergy with unholy blood ritual: no extra damage for your mage but you do get melee +1

I was already a big fan of Firestorm and Ring of fire. This should give ALL the rolls piercing+1, which is awesome for just a 3 mana equipment.
I think bloodfire helmet will give her melee +1 while attacking an object with a burn condition.

I've inquired about this topic before. Laddinfance said the intention is that it would not get destroyed after the attack. I've read an interpretation about constant targeting on the forums before. I believe in the next supplement update it will be more clarified.
