Player Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Alternative female mage art?

In the words of my wife: I told you so.  :-X

(I wounder how many other games have to deal with this......I honestly have never seen it before in all my 18 years of gamming. Cant we just go back to complaining that these games are evil???? Im starting to almost miss that. *No I am not...you see a pile of magic cards being burnt once in your life and you never look at society the same way again)

Well you know....

With more cards coming in- the need for arcane will go down. And for many arcane cards, equivalents will present themselves.

Such as right now- we have "Dispel" a arcane spell. In the future, we may have something that varies from that such as a holy spell that allows you to destroy any Dark enchantment.

Thinks like that will eventually divert the arcane heavy meta.

THat is unforchanet you have people who wish not to play the game with you.

COuld they just be happy if you take said cards out of your games???

Or you could try and reason with them (IDK if that would help your case in your situation, but if it was me...), I would ask them if they avoid television, internet, magazines with advertisements, or shopping malls since, they all too have a sexiest representation of females....and all of those mediums go a step further and are not pandering to just 20-30 year old males, but most often to other women, and young girls.

Again, I dont know if that would be a good route for you- but thats just what I would say. And it wouldn't hurt to ask that if you removed those cards from you game if it would be alright to play.

You could always print out your own, or use miniatures. See if that would help  ;D

You know- with the print and play model gaining some ground- thats a great idea.

I think youre really on to something Trotsky.

I mean- its just a mage card...why not.

Well there were many- there were many on BGG- I have seen them...Im not going to even look for them to give a link. And if something had happened to them- there must be a good reason. (Such as there are WAY to many of the same thread, or they got out of hand)

And my tone was that of- I have seen this thread 20 times before.

And yeah- All I was trying to say that I have seen them end badly, and that everyone should be prepared for the conversation at hand and remember to remain respectful.

Sorry if I have somehow offended you Ringkichard with however you interpreted my "tone".  (I didn't feel however that you lashed out or anything!  ;D )

And I chose not to add to the conversation since, I have been threw it a few times before on threads that apparently are not around anymore.

Im just going to say:

There is Multiple threads for this already. Multiple

And these threads often lead to disagreement with no resolution, and sometimes heated arguments:

Lets keep it light guys. There are opinions and one big gray area.

I am a big fan of the vine whip staff- I have stalled games before when I have a "Beat stick" chasing me around the arena, and I have slowed them down enough to get my footing.

I was just going to throw this in....IDK if it would work for your build....but

One of my favorite spells for the druid is "Repulse". Since a majority of her creatures are Rooted, and there is a good amount of time that the druid wants to defend a conjuration- Repulse works great since it will push many opponents creatures out of a zone but not you Rooted ones.

Have fended off zombie swarms using repulse.

Just putting it out there.

Also- I like the build!  ;D (I throw Battleforge in everything.....I just cant help myself)

Mort is amazing- couple him with Unholy Resurgence and them skeletons just wont die. Not to mention that tainted chance- Mort is a beast.

(Got my butt handed to me last night by the necro and a skeleton swarm...tainted markers.....tainted markers everywhere)

Thats great to here Zuberi- its players like you who make the game great!

And thats just what I would suggest. You really need someone who you can talk to after the match and go over the game with you. I would say that after discussing a match, even a little,  you walk away a much better player.

I typically ask myself these questions after each match. "What did I do wrong? what did I do right? Where did the match take a turn? Could I have prevented that turn? What did I play, and what did I play against? How did I win, and how could I have won faster?"

Doing that with another person will help out immensely. Truly the best way to improve is to talk about it. I just can't stress it enough. Talk about your matches. You will learn something.

And on another note- Mage Wars is just so different from any other game. Im not saying anyone here, but, I have noticed alot of players (My group) that are not used to not having an excuse for being a bad player or, losing. there is no, "I got mana screwed" you got luck sacked. You spent more on your army then me" ect.

The only excuse you can use in MW is "I play to have fun". Well....losing isn't fun, and with that attitude you have already set yourself up for a loss.

The point of this being said is: there is no reason another player cant sit down and talk about the match. They cant say "well you got lucky" as in other games.

MW is also different that there really isn't just a landslide "Im going to win this match" before it even begins type of thing.....so it is really hard to learn where you are going wrong.

And yeah- take your game to your FLGS- I would have never tried the old Mage Knight or warhammer if it was not for a person, sitting by themselves at a table and me talking to them. I would walk up and ask if they played MtG, and they would say "No, but I have this game" and I would play. Mage wars will garner interest.

My and a buddy played in a FLGS and people gathered. The game is just so visually interesting, its hard not to watch. And hell- I would set up a demo and sit there...if anyone ask tell them "a friend was going to show up, but couldn't make it" (If your insecure about it....)

TL:DR- Read it anyhow....or don't. Im just a post, not a cop.
