Events / Board Game Demo Day. September 5th, Toledo OH

Event will be hosted at The Toledo Gameroom. 3001 Sylvania Ave. Toledo, OH 43613

On Saturday, September 5th, from open to close, we will have various board, card, and role-playing games hosted to try, for free!

• all such games will be 10% off that day
• every game you personally demo will be 15% for you
• every game you personally demo earns you a raffle ticket for the drawing of random free games

 If you wish to demo a game, or need more information, contact KC at tgrevents@gmail.com.

 The list of games available to demo so far are:

Events / Rescheduled BashCon tourney

Ok, so the rescheduled tourney from BashCon will happen at The Game Room in Toledo OH on March 21.
First round will begin at 12pm noon.
120pt. spell books
tie breaker is most remaining life
only promos that have been printed in a current set are legal
all current sets are legal (through Forged In Fire)
rounds will be 75 mins.
Swiss style tourney with number of rounds based on attendance
If you own the core set then please bring it with you, the number of participants also depends on how many boards we can produce. (I have enough for 12 players. If your mage requires a specific token, I.e. Voltaric shield, then please bring that as well just in case.)

First place prize will be 1 Mage Wars core set, 1 Westlock rubber play mat, and 1 copy of Forged in Fire.
Second place prize will be 1 copy of Forged in Fire.
All participants will receive 2 promo cards and I also have 20 of each color acrylic dice to give away as well

Unfortunately BashCon has contacted me and informed me that they do not have space to host the tournament.  That being said I will schedule and run the tournament in march at The Game Room in Toledo. Please watch these forums for updates. All of the prizes that were available at the tourney will still be awarded at that event. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

We have a Mage Wars event coming up soon. A one day casual play league. Show up, play as many games as you can in the time frame, and rack up points for each game you play. 3 pts for a win and 1 pt for a loss. The winner will be whoever has the most points at the end of time. All participants will receive a promo card with the winner getting several promos.
Feb 7th.
The Game Room. 3001 W. Sylvania Ave.
Toledo, OH
Starts at 12pm noon, ends at 5pm
120points spellbooks all promos are legal.
No entry fee.

No entry fee. Registration starts at 12:00pm, first round at 12:30
Promos will be handed out to all, with the winner receiving a handful
If you have a core set please bring it. Number of participants depends on the number of core sets available.
Number of swiss rounds TBD by turnout

I'm not sure about the story behind tanglevine, but that was re-released in DvN with the "vine" subtype added. So I guess I don't see the big deal here. (Especially considering strangle vine came out in the same set)

I agree. If your opponent wastes the mana and actions getting rid of my forge than it's worth the quick action I used to cast it.

I find myself using battle forge more and more. There is a lot of good equipment, for any mage really, and it frees up some casting actions. My FM rocks a first turn forge every time.

I think the X-box live market would be a great format to release a digital version of the game. MtG has done it pretty successfuly.
