Spellbook Builder / Card database available
« on: March 17, 2014, 04:52:50 PM »
The card database is now ready

http://forum.arcanewonders.com/sbb/database.php

This is distinct from the SBB and it just lets you search for and browse the cards by Name, Type, Subtypes, Level, Casting Cost and Reveal Cost.

So it will let you do fun things like look for all the level 1 Mind cards or cards that have a reveal cost of X.

Still in beta so if you find any bugs please post them to this thread.

I'll add level to the data set

If the database does not display what cards actually do in game, then it has no use to me when deciding what cards to include in my spellbooks and what expansions to buy.

The previews show the entire card

Spellbook Builder / Card database fields

Hey folks

I am in the midst of finishing up a standalone version of the card data in the SBB to allow people to browse cards without building a spell book

The card database currently displays name, type, subtype, school, casting cost and reveal cost

I have room for one more column of data.

What do you think is the most important element from a card to add?

If you are able to make the SBB case-insensitive when processing card IDs I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Its not really something that would be high on my list of things to do as it would require a lot of testing. Those card IDs are used all through the system.

Spacing okay now?

I'll work on the tiling.

So are you referring to the spacing between the individual spells? I can fix that via CSS.

Can you post an example?

Spellbook Builder / Updating your .sbb files
« on: February 06, 2014, 12:21:10 PM »
If you have old .sbb files that you saved prior to the latest (Feb 6th) update then they will no longer work.

If you want to update the files just open them in a text editor add a blank line at the beginning of the file and add a 0 to the line.

The new file format includes a flag to indicate whether you have set the "Ignore Card Count" option. This offsets all of the other data so old files won't read correctly unless you add a new line with a 0 in it.

Spellbook Builder / New SBB beta posted (Thursday Feb 6th)
« on: February 06, 2014, 10:52:43 AM »
A new beta of the mage Wars Spellbook Builder is now available. As usual it is available at

http://forum.arcanewonders.com/sbb/

Changes in this version include:

• Added a history to the Card Preview window. The preview window remembers all the cards you looks at and you can move forward and back through them.
• Fixed card maximums in DvN cards
• fixed export file format to allow for "Ignore Card Count" flag
• fixed CVS export format
• sorting cards by card the now works properly for the SBB forum code export

Please note that old .sbb files will no longer work in the updated SBB. You can update your old files if you want to use them.

If you find a bug please report it

http://forum.arcanewonders.com/index.php?topic=13222.0

and if you have any feature requests please post them as well

I'm confused. What do you mean you don't know what thread killing rule I'm referring to? Am I missing something here?

There is a warning that the system will pop up when you attempt to reply to a post that is more than 60 days old. You can still reply. Nothing stops anyone from reposting to an old thread and no threads are deleted.

74
I am not sure what "thread killing" rule you are referring to.

Spellbook Builder / Does the SBB need a Max column?
« on: February 03, 2014, 03:20:18 PM »
Quick question for everyone.

Is the Max column in the card data table useful? Or would there be a more useful column of data to include?
