Forcemaster...Could it works?
« on: June 09, 2014, 08:45:24 AM »
Hi guys! I am really new in the game, my friends present to me the Forcemaster Vs. warlord expansion and I am testing the Forcemaster, do you think that this book could works? Suggestions are always well received.

Thanks in advance!

Looks very solid to me.

You should get rid of the psylock. It's one of the most useless creatures in the game. Instead think about using temple of the dawnbreaker for your defense capabilities.
Force Push makes more sense if there is a wall the enemy can be pushed trough.
Akiro, I have never prayed to you before. No one will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that one stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Akiro... so grant me strength! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

Thanks so much for your opinion Schwenkgott! I was not really convinced to include psylock, so maybe I change it fo another "Reverse Attack" since I do not have points to include a "temple of the dawnbreaker" (but sound good for a future spell book) by the other hand the Force Push is to avoid that enemy go away too far since you can attract him/her to you. I really miss a wand but I need to put off another spell and I really do not know what of them...so lets test the current one and lets see what happend... thanks for your advice!  ;)

Looks pretty solid, about the only thing I would recommend is finding a way to raise your Channeling, your Upkeep costs can get high with a Force Master though I see you've minimized that. I'd drop the Psylok for a Moon Glow Amulet or Mana Flower though.

I heard your suggestion silverclawgrizzly, and finally I changed the psylock for a MoonGlow Amulet. I will test the spellbook like this. Thanks you both for your helps and suggestions ;-)

Poor Psylocks. I completely forgot about them because nobody uses them.

Psyloks good against zombies no? They do crit damage and zombies are resilient.

Zombies are psychic immune. Psyloks do psychic damage.

well all living creatures other than Frost Wolf Spider don't have psyhic immunity (unless i am missing a few others) so does that count for anything?

(unless i am missing a few others)
Mana Leech, Lightning Beetle, and Giant Wolf Spider

Surprisingly there are a couple of creatures with the Insect subtype that are not Psychic Immune:
Death's Head Scorpion and Tataree

Ahhh yes. Forgot about psychic attack. Thanks Jack. Yeah, so they are still useless. Lol

I actually have a very similar Forcemaster deck with some minor differences. I never posted it here, as I'm still polishing it, but I might do it soon.
Here are some of my points:
1) Why do you need Eagle Wings? Your Thoughtspores are flying anyways, and this enchantment doesn't work on Mages.
2) I don't think that you need 2 Forcefields. They are too costy and I don't think that the enemy mage will have time and resources to dispel it.
3) I'd add a Regrowth enchantment, as your belt might get dissolved and you may want to have an alternative.
4) Squeezing in couple more Dissolves might help too, as you want to have enemy mage naked from any kind of armor. Doublestrike attack works great when you hit people without defense.
5) Hand of Bim Shala looks great, but I never actually had a chanse to use it - not enough actions to cast it. During several first turns you probably want to cast Battle Forge, one or two Thoughtspores, some enchantments and run towards the enemy. In my games the confrontation usually started at turn 3-4, depending on the enemy's strategy and the games ended quick. You want to gave your full action available for attack and your quick action for pull, dissolve, dispel or anything like that.
Or maybe I'm just bad with Forcemaster :-)

well... I use to use it on my mage... and works fantasitc until you arrive and weake up myself! You are right! It do not works here...  :o FAIL!

2) I don't think that you need 2 Forcefields. They are too costy and I don't think that the enemy mage will have time and resources to dispel it.
Just for security, as it could be attached facedown a Seeking Disspel could destroy it without much cost.
3) I'd add a Regrowth enchantment, as your belt might get dissolved and you may want to have an alternative.
It is a nice idea.
4) Squeezing in couple more Dissolves might help too, as you want to have enemy mage naked from any kind of armor. Doublestrike attack works great when you hit people without defense.
I never use more than two, before this deck I use three and never use all of this, for this I put just two. Maybe depends of your meta...
5) Hand of Bim Shala looks great, but I never actually had a chanse to use it - not enough actions to cast it. I usually open with Hand of Bim Shala and Battle Forge. I find both really useful.
Or maybe I'm just bad with Forcemaster :-)
Really brother... I am not feel a great Forcemaster but I continue learning how to use it! Thanks for your comments! are always very wellcome and I would like to see your book soon!!!  ;)

Yes, atm there is no way to make your mage fly. This would be too powerful. I usually start with double move and casting Battle Forge, as I want to save mana and get into my opponent's face as soon as possible.
I might think about getting rid of one Dissolve, your point is good - my games don't usually last that long to cast more than 2 Dissolves too.
I kinda don't want to post my book yet, as I tweak it after every game, I'll post it as soon I finish with the tuning.

This may just be in my meta but I would add another mongoose elusiveness because that is usually the enchantment that gets dispelled first.
