Hey all,
We started a group called Arcane Duels awhile back and decided we're going to put out game play videos whenever we can.
You can catch our first video on youtube and you can follow us on FB if you want.
The goal is to start putting material out there that focuses on players with more experience than "Beginner Level."
Mistakes were made and we didn't get to put much editing in so this was a pretty rough episode. From here on the videos will be much more polished so if you like our stuff then fear not.
Feel free to post comments and feedback on FB, Youtube or right here on the forums. We're all learning here so we'd love to hear what you have to say. Thanks!

I love your goblin grunts strategy :)
One thing. I really apprecieate how you solved planning and refresh phase in your videos. But i had to refresh mine focus with each "skip" and need some time to absorb everything again. It could be just me, so dont mind me.
Would it be possible to place cards on board allong the zone lines? For example your mage will be always in right corner closer to its controller within its current zone. Your creatures in right corner closer to your opponent in their current zone. Also, if you put your cards into coloured sleeves, spectators would be able to distinguish whos card is who much more easier.
My five cents. Thank you for this vid!

Thanks for the reply!
We plan on putting an in-between screen showing which round we're on as well as mana/life total, that should clear things up a bit.
Someone also mentioned showing spells and attacks in the bottom of the screen to communicate better what's happening.
I hope the next video will clear things up!
Thanks again.

I just want to ask, did warlock pays +2 additional mana when he was enchanting and igniting warlord? :)
I am eagrly waiting for another episode :)
-
We actually did forget at the moment that he needed to pay the extra 2 mana. But we looked back over it and he had a surplus of mana so it wouldn't have changed much.
Good catch!

Im first time viewing others play the whole match, but i have to say it was rather fun to watch, keep it up guys!

Really enjoyed the video, keep posting them! Had a question though. At the end of the match, the warlord used hurl boulder on the warlock and successfully slammed him. According to the codex, an incapacitated mage can only cast quick non-attack spells. Does that include spells cast with the quick-cast marker? Could you have legally cast that fireball? I don't get the opportunity to play too often, so I apologize if this is a silly question.
Anyway, I subscribed, keep posting those videos!

Thanks for subscribing! Actually on the youtube channel or FB page I mentioned that. So really I (Nathan, Warlord) probably would have won that. But it's on me for not calling it out. More importantly I learned a valuable strategy if I'm ever in the same boat.
Good catch!

Any idea when the next video will be up?

We're planning on taping our next one this weekend. So expect it at the end of the weekend or Monday-ish. I'm going to post a battle report on our FB page in a bit so if you'd like to read about our recent match it should have some interesting stuff in it.

Hey guys, I just added Part I to our facebook page. Please do feel free to let me know whenever you have new ones up. Additionally, the facebook page should be open for fans to share things like this directly as well, and if you do, we'll be happy to "like" it to ensure others see it.
Great job, I love user content like this!

Hey, much appreciated!
Umm... Which FB page is yours?
We'd love to bounce some videos around.

Mr. Scott "Tox" Morris is part of the team at Arcane Wonders. To be specific, he's the VP of Business Development, meaning he deals mostly with sales, marketing, and retailers. However, like the other members of the Arcane Wonders team, since there are so few of them, they end up doing much more than their job description.
He was referring to the official Mage Wars facebook page. He's one of the people who goes on there and posts things like news, videos, etc.

Well then! Don't I feel like an idiot!
I searched on every mage wars page I could find, except the actual Arcane Wonders page itself.
Thanks so much Tox! This is awesome!

Yeah, in addition to creating and distributing an amazing game, their support and interaction with the community is a big part of why I will happily support anything AW puts out. It's really a breath of fresh air in a world populated with companies that will push the bottom line often at the expense of their customers.

Howdy
Rreally enjoyed watching, you explained what your spellbook is about, hearing the friendly banter and watching the game with a 2 player perspective. Hope you guys release more videos like that. Voyeurism is a new way to get my MW fix. Thanks.

That video is great. Thanks guys.
The one thing that has been sorely lacking in the Mage Wars community is full gameplay videos and these videos mixed with LordOfWinter's vids are going a long way to addressing that. Games like Netrunner and Magic both have a big selection of gameplay videos online and, whilst we have a long way to go before we match their quantity, it is great that we're starting to see more Mage Wars videos.
Keep up the good work.
