Seems like every player I knows always got a "project book" including myself. I'm working on a shark focused Siren and Mid- range Dwarf. What's everyone working on as a pet project?
-
My projects right now are wizard and Paladin
-
I sat down and built 10 books last night lol. But gorgon archer/tower wizard, shark siren, and forcemaster with drokar are my 3 priorities
Edit: i really want to work on domination books though
-
Before this, I played a lot with Johktari + Cats + New ranged weapons + Crocs and so on. This worked fine and I had many fun games with it.
Lately I try to work a dwarf warlord with Titanodon + Other big guys like earth elemental or minotaur and dwarfs. I haven't had any good iteration and I actually kinda suck with it. :P So that's fun to try and make this work.
-
I build a lot of proof of concept books to test ideas either as splashes in existing book or as a whole new idea. My last one was an outpost less bridge troll AT warlord.
-
Looking around yesterday I found my lady lock is still mostly intact. I'll need to replace the cards I scavenged from her and get back on that kick.
-
I took mine apart :( she was hogging all the marked for death, magebane, and rust cards.
-
I've been trying to figure out a good way to use the earth elemental with a warlord. It seems like Earth elemental is built to just wreck things like Godzilla and to be hard to kill and hard to stop. So I want to build a deck focused on destroying enemy creatures and conjurations. I'm not sure what soldiers to include. Thinking if either using goblin bombers or goblin slingers. Not sure which. Earth elemental is expensive.

Buddy of mine casts the earth elemental second turn. Enemt8focuses on it so he can build up after that. That's also 35 damage NOT coming at you if they actu8kill it.

What soldiers does he use with it?

But it only guards once and doesn't have intercept. It also has a full turn attack so it doesn't kill anything becuase it cannot counter strike. So didn't they just fireball him to death?
-
I agree that an Earth Elemental is not something you ever attack. You just keep one space away and ignore it, whilst shooting the mage.
-
Yeah those are good theories of how it should go against an elemental. However life sometimes goes different lol.
I'm gonna debate my flying priest book again.
-
Crusade griffins?
-
Absolutely. Along with a cheetah spped Metatron and maybe a Gray angel.

Actually that is the strategy to teach anyone the power of intercept. Or even teleport the elemental to the other side of the arena to get that pesky critter out of your hair, once you are out of attack spells.
-
I'm not going to debate tactics. This is all basic common sense stuff. However real games with real people can throw real kinks into it. If you'd like an Earth Elemental thread please make one and lets stay on topic here.
-
Being on the receiving end of a ticked off Metatron I can attest that he is a pain.
-
I'm still an amateur when it comes to deck building, but my project deck would probably be my Angel Fortress. It's a priestess deck, and it it uses the Temple of Light built in the middle of the board, powered up with a bunch more temples in the back row protected by steel walls. The Temple of light itself is protected by Sacred Ground, Fortified Position, and some Guardian Angels. Some Royal Archers thrown in to supplement the Temple of Light.
With the release of Paladin vs Siren, I'm seeing a whole bunch of potential upgrades I can make to this deck. Malakai's Basilica is an option, and along with that Luminous Blast and Artemis. Maybe a steep hill.
-
My projects are updating my Flexible Forcemaster (I'll be posting it in the next couple of days.) and making some siren books.
-
With all of the new sets and combinations im itching to build a werewolf warlock book
-
I'm hoping I can get this Priest working. I also have a Siren I need to re- outfit, an Anvil Throne I just need to play more, and an Adramelech I need to fine polish.
-
Yea I have a few builds I want to experiment with. I have a forcemaster build I want to try out, Joktari buddy build with the new spear. My two books I want to try the most is experimenting with the undead pirates with a Druid and/ or necromancer. Along with either the croc or crab for the Druid. Hope to get to try at least a couple of these out this month.
-
I'm wanting to mess around with a Johktari as well but I'm letting another local Ayer experiment first. Also need to squeeze the giant elephant into a book.
-
like most others I really want to do something fun with Titanodon.
But at the moment I am building a Druid, that is very aggressive from turn 1 while the tree builds economy with seedling pots + mana flowers.

Next Forcemaster project :
Rebuilding my book around the Kraken. ( Removing Grizzly and Jelly )
It's 15 sbp's but its abilities nicely fit into the FM's strengths
Force Pull enemy mage from 2 zones away, Tentacle Grasp - snatch and Grapple - with Kraken next.
Enemy mage is held in place and attacked with 6 dice + Piercing +3 next.
Grapple gets around any guards.
Critical strike on FM.
Thoughtspore with Minor Heal/Dispel/SeekingDispel as back up.
That's the core idea.
The thing I like most about it is that it can be set up real fast, no Teleport Trap, no Spiked Pit nor Tanglevine necessary anymore to move and hold the enemy Mage.
The FM and the Kraken do all that ( + damage + get around armor) between the two of them.

I am still working on the Viking Con 70 spellbook library. (at 43 or so)
With Paladin vs Siren, Warlock/Priestess Academy and Lost Grimore out, there is a lot to do :)
Mind Eye is something i really want to try, even if i usually give up on building FM books. WHAT?!, only 40 cards in my spellbook?
Altar of Infernia in a Necromancer book and build and play 1+ book that uses my Screaming Zombies.
Itching to use a lot of the new creatures, but i don´t think it will make that much of a difference.
"Just use Grizzlies"
Warlock build a Demon book that rocks. Lets say 1 or more for each mage.
Tanks: Priestess, Dwarf, Wizard, Druid is really hard to kill. (actually any tank mage is hard to kill) If they can´t kill you, your not losing.
Anti-tank. Build at least 1 book for each mage that focusses on anti-tank. Gladly at the cost of losing to Swarms, Flying etc. Just wanna kill those tanks.
Play all of the books at least once.
More important get Keejchen to make at least 1 video for each library book. :)

I didn't build a book using Ehren yet. I really need to.
-
My current project is a priest book cleric swarm. The basic idea is to use the new 3 dice clerics to force a bad situation and make you want to kill them, but if you do you get metatroned in the face. It's interesting but not there yet
-
I like that you used Metatron as a verb there lol.

Why Metatron? Why not Valshalla?

Valshala is crazy expensive. It's harder to drop her after the first few rounds. And with the malakais basilica those clerics hit for 4 dice. Since i want dazes and stuns and im already running temple of light metatron hits harder, faster. Akzo since Valshala still needs support even after spending 21 mana on her I'd rather lessen the impact and run the metatron that has better synergy with what else is already out there. Good question though. I did think about the big angel.
-
I have a book like that as a priestess that uses both. I also have meditation amulet to pay for it.
-
An Angels deck is something I have played with Since I got into the game. It never seemed powerful enough. I may relook at it. The high end never seem worth it, part from maybe Samandriel as a counter to ALOF. That's mainly a meta choice though and that book is not at the forefront of my meta atm.
-
I want to have a unicorn-book xD
I just did't build since I don't want to play the long games this book would favor. But I am thinking of how to go offensive with it.
-

Took me a while to work out ALOF!
Sad considering I'm the one that's abused you with it... lol

It took much thought and rumination on how to counter that book. Bloody well done sir! One of your best creations; a very nasty Adremelech book. I do count it as one of the basic books, Buddy builds are one of the oldest archetypes.

Im currently on a quest to build a planet of the apes style book with a beastmaster. 3 to 4 gorillas and iguanna regrowths to support them.
We'll see how this works out
-
Should be more fun than a barrel full of monkeys....

Right now I don't see rage as a good mechanic. Maybe future cards will bring something to finally make the poor gorilla go crazy

Clever!

Totally agree. I just think it would be fun.
