Title: Armor swapping is outdated!
Post by: Wildhorn on October 26, 2014, 03:25:24 PM
People often carry 2 armor to armor swap to drop Corrode markers.

I thought of a way better way to do it.

Simply Disarm your own armor during Last Quick Cast phase. Same effect, cost less mana, cost equal or less spellbook points and it add a Disarm to your toolbox vs your opponent.

So why would the corrode markers fall off.

If it's disabled it's still there.

Because you lose the armor value for the round and if you have no armor you can't have corrode tokens.

This was already pointed out in the Fif preview thread. :p

The dwarf warlord can cure three corrod this way if he has a fortified chest peice. The defect in this pan is if you only have one chest piece and it's dissolved then you can't use disarm like this.

Also, fyi another trick is rust yourself then transfer the rust to your opponent.

Really? This is very possible. It was so long ago, I don't recall. :)

I know this is an old topic, but this is some good info---I've been having trouble figuring out a consistent use for disarm---I'm open to other suggestions on the card.

Cool cost saving card, but it's still hard not to include a 2nd armor due to dissolve---especially the dragonscale hauberk...even my priestess wears this---thematically though, I kind of wish my priestess didn't have to wear it. If only her crown could target a mage...any plans for a more angelic/white armor?

Disarm is fantastic for baiting nullifies. Even if it wasn't a nullify, you can still disable some armor in preparation for an attack.

Also useful for disabling enemy armor just before your horde of creatures moves in for the kill.

Or disable Eagleclaw boots and shove them through a wall! Just when they thought they were safe... (okay, you could dissolve the boots too).

It also ignores Armor Ward, which is handy.

I would hope that the Paladin has some type of new Holy armor.

Disarm is also a good card for a Ranged Mage.
Adramelech Warlock can Disarm a Dragonscale Hauberk for just one mana and follow up with a Fireball all from two zones away for a total of 9 mana ( her channeling value )
You take away 2 armour, throw 2 more dice and gain +2 to your effect die for just 1 mana. Great deal IMO.
I currently run 4 Disarms in my A-Warlock spellbook ( + 2 Dissolve + 1 Explode + 2 Acid Ball )

I'm expecting Spiked Armor, Spiked Buckler, etc to make their "official" appearances in that expansion.

As for Holy armour, I think the game needs a "Sunglasses" equipment - or at least something with the "Light -X" for reducing damage of that type. If I'm not mistaken, Light is the only damage type for which there isn't an existing or promo equipment card for reducing its damage (e.g. Leviathan Scale Armor has Hydro -2; Chitin Armor has Acid -3; etc).

There's [mwcard=DNQ01] Cloak of Shadows[/mwcard]! But most mages can't take this :(

Oh wow - totally forgot it has Light -2. I just take it for the Obscured trait.
