Title: Ichthellid as an Eternal Servant
Post by: Werekingdom on September 23, 2016, 03:31:55 PM
Hey Guys,

What do you think of Ichthellid as an Eternal Servant?
I've been trying to find a new/better Eternal Servants, so I thought Ichthellid could make a good Servant since he can give you "free" Ichthellid's with the eggs. He is weak with 5 health and 2 armor, and he is expensive at 9 mana.

Thanks,

Seems reasonable if you are going for the Ichtelid thing

I was about to post about that also, but I wisely (uncharacteristic) looked it up first.

I think Eternal Servant on Ichthellid has potential.  Just like the Deathfang you give a creature Pierce 2 which makes it more likely that it will do the damage you need to get the egg transferred.  They may ignore it once its egg is transferred so that you don't get another one and a 3 dice pierce 2 attack is not terrible.  Especially for a Necro who usually has trouble with armor.  It might be a good servant in a zombie book more than a skellie book. just to get that initial damage and trigger bloodthirsty.

This brings up a question. When the Ichthellid dies and is re-summoned though Eternal Servant does he get a new egg? If he does then this could make him the best Eternal Servant. If you had Ichthellid and ravenous ghoul it could make a excellent combo.

To be honest I've seen Ichtalid books have various success with Eternal Servant.
You would get the egg back, because the egg went from the board into your discard back onto your board again. To elaborate the Reanimate effect is considered a summoning (with special rules) so it would get the token back.

Things to remember -> The larva is a poison condition - use that Plaguemaster ability!
You can use [mwcard=DNC01]Acolyte of the Bog Queen[/mwcard]s to guarantee the damage and not kill the creature while impregnating them. You can also use [mwcard=MW1J20]Sacrificial Altar[/mwcard] to kill off your own Bog Queens and guarantee the summon (relying on your opponent is awful IMO). This helps save mana on those expensive bugs (5 mana vs 9). So the way to get more use out of the Bog Queen would be to run a [mwcard=DNC11]Ravenous Ghoul[/mwcard] to eat the corpse afterwards and gain the growth token  8) Value town if they let you get away with it
