Title: favorite enchantment
Post by: zot on December 23, 2017, 11:55:44 PM
ok time for another favorite or top few. decide what your favorite enchantment. no constraints. just what are your top few. could be you love how powerful it is, or thematics, or artwork or whatever.

i will lead off with forcefield. just cool concept.

after that it is really hard to pick a next one or two. so many great enchants.

the artwork on block is very forcefiledeasque, so that is neat. and the artwork on standard bearer is cool too. all of these enchants are also very themstic as well.

Glancing blow. A million times glancing blow. I told you all i would get use out of it before it even dropped and i did not lie. My favorite enchantment by far. It just makes me so happy!

After that hawkeye cuz its in every book I've ever made.

Then rise again. Cuz it makes puddn so sad! Lol!

My top ten remains close to what I had in mambo's little podcast.

MAGEBANE IS BEST BANE

Jinx. But Magebane and Brace Yourself are pretty close!

When a curse is so damn nice, you sometimes don't even want to kill the cursed creature:

Death Link.

Honestly though, with enchantments, it's really hard to choose, because they do just about anything.
Standard bearer is the reason I play Warlord.
Mongoose makes my solos work.
Enfeeble makes headaches go away.
Barkskin is the reason I play druid.

Still. Death Link takes the cake for me.

the new formations are very interesting for warlords. and if you play core warlock, then at least when the creature dies, you get your deathlink back.

My favorite:

Hawkeye... I love ranged attacks.

Honorable mention:

Eye for an Eye... I had a hilarious win at GenCon due to this one. I had only one more life than my opponent and he hit me for just enough to kill his mage and not mine.

Bear Strength. Hit hard, hit often. So overlooked.

Oh, too many choices here. A top five for me.

I like to force my opponent into hard decisions, so Essence Drain and Curse Item do the trick nicely.

I also have a soft spot for Lion Savagery. Throw it onto a Holy Avenger Crusader Griffin for some fun times.

Theft of Life is a lovely thing to throw onto regenerating creatures. I love the "thank you, I'll have some of that!" nature of that spell.

And of course we should all shout out to the humble but vital Nullify. Can I have three cheers for Nullify?!

Hip hip...

My favorite is Eye for an Eye.

Best way to put  lot of damage on resilient and ethereal creatures quickly.

Which also means that if you are using such a creature against a Holy mage, you need to prep Seeking Dispel on many turns... just in case. I can see the usefulness of Mordok's Tome for Wizards here.

I think I have to say Rhino Hide and Rust: One for keeping you alive and one for making sure your opponents die.
The value is insane.
Magebane is another personal favorite, you almost always get a good mana/sbp/action trade out of it.

I have a soft spot for Divine Intervention, as it has saved my Priestess many, many times.
