Title: Harshforge Plate
Post by: kiwipaul on March 13, 2015, 06:12:11 AM
Was wondering how the extra two mana works.  What if you are targeting an object on the mage?  does this also cost two more or is that not counted as the mage?  Would a dissolve on the plate cost two more?

Look at the target line of Dissolve. Target is not the equipment attached to the mage, but the mage himself.

Note also that Enchantments on the Mage with Harshforge Plate can be dispelled normally (no extra cost), since the target of Dispel is the Enchantment (and not the Mage).

Harsforge is a great spell if you are Full Metal Warlord :)

Yeah, you gotta love the Dwarf with HF Plate and his Hammer with the runes... he can get quite annoying to a few different Mages, most particularly the Wizard.

So, the answer to your question is: No, targeting objects on the mage does not incur an extra cost. You only have to pay it when you target them Mage themselves. However, Dissolve specifically does target the Mage and so would have the extra cost.
