Title: Rules question Debilitate
Post by: Randyman on August 14, 2013, 02:38:36 PM
Hello!
So if read the card Debilitate (http://gallery.mailchimp.com/9da956a569c65d5b054e80642/images/Debilitate.png) will, if using propper math where x includes negatives, also remove all the -x traits a creature has. AKA setting a creatures melee dmg output back to its fixed nummber.

In math -x and +(-x) is the same thing.

I don't think it is designers intent. Could I have ruling.

Thanks.
Randy

This isn't math so the card only works as it is printed.  :)

It just removes Melee+ traits from a Creature and stops it from gaining them while it has Debilitate,.

Are there any "melee -x" cards printed yet?

Not that I can think of off the top of my head.  The closest thing I can come up with is Agony, but it opts to use the terminology of "roll 2 less dice" which makes it distinct from Melee X trait.

Weak  is also 'kind of' similar.  It isn't specifically melee but it is -1 Non-spell attacks

Would Debilitate also remove charge +x traits?

Currently, no. It works on Battle Skill, Bear Strength, and Growth Markers. Anything that provides +x melee.
