Are Demons Living ort Non-Living Creatures? I'm sure they are living, but wanted to check.

They are living creatures.

They are living.

Was dismayed to find that Light damage does nothing extra against creatures of the Dark :)
-
I know it's small consolation but, Samandrial gets +1 vs dark creatures.

You underestimate the power of the Dark Side.

Interesting idea. In early playtesting we had considered making Light better against Dark. Many of the playtesters were against having that because it gave the Priestess a huge advantage over the Warlock. Of course, we could have made some counterbalances.
Instead we chose to make Light more powerful against Nonliving, which gives Light a little more flexibility and less narrow of focus. Light can now be effectively used against all Incorporeal from all schools (Incorporeal are always Nonliving), all Golems (like the Iron Golem), and will still be deadly against Nonliving Dark creatures like the coming Necromancers Undead forces.

Well, Samandriel still swings for +1 against dark creatures, so the theme is kinda already there. But even then, that just brings her up to Adramalech in terms of quick action attack dice. Better believe I save a Knockdown/Agony for that...jerk.

Having Light do extra damage vs Nonliving makes sense from a balance perspective because anyone with a heavy Nonliving focus will (almost always) have a Deathlock to prevent healing... If it wasn't for +vs Nonliving, the priestess would be really at a disadvantage.

When playing a Priestess I really hate Deathlock. I either have to tank the Warlock quckly or spend time, mana and actions to take it out. He then proceds to put a Poisoned Blood on me which I am learning to have a Nullify ready for, but once again I am using actions to counter instead of using the action in my favor.

I would have to agree, a school should never be better then another. I like how its better against type, light having an advantage over unliving, fire having an advantage over plants,Ect. is much better than anything else.

Which is fine other than the fact that the limitation is to "Nonliving Creatures" and Walls are not Creatures:(

Just wait for the new expansion, then it will be lights time to shine. (Not intended to be the WORST pun ever.)
