Interesting use for walls.
« on: January 08, 2014, 02:21:59 AM »
So last couple of games my roommates been beating me to death with his Force Master through use of the Battle Forge spitting out Equpiment left right and center. Is there anything that would stop me from casting a LoS blocking wall around the thing so that it couldn't cast the equipment spells as it wouldn't be able to see the Force Master? He generally leaves it on the back wall near his starting zone. Barring that I'm gonna create a penalty box, teleport his mage inside of it, then go smash the forge. I'm sure there are better ways of going about this but this is what came to mind.

Yes, a wall blocking LOS between the forge and mage would prevent the deployment.

Thank you Zuberi! Now assuming I have the mana can I extend a wall twice?

Yes, blocking LOS is one way of restricting Forge use.
It works particularly well with Wall of Thorns + Force Push as it gives Wall of Thorns another use.
E.g. enemy mage is activated in Forge Zone, cast Thorns on a border then Force Push him through

Usually a Forge is placed in Near Centre or Far Centre so that it can summon in 10 zones.
Placing it in start corner, it only works in 6 zones so you should Teleport him to your horde
Then restrict his movement back to his Forge zones (Force Hold, Tanglevine, Vinewhip etc)

Common Forge removal methods include:
Piercing Strike + ~6 dice attack
Bear Strength Brogan Bloodstone
Acid Ball + Surging Wave (not great)

Good luck with the next match!
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. And then it's just fun.

Yes, that is what Extend allows you to do (just once).
The second wall does not need to be in range.
Only 1 of the 2 walls needs to be in LOS as per new FAQ.

Hope that helps.

Er, the wall won't block LoS to its own extension, but if something else does block sight you can't extend there. You do need LoS.

" Note that the second wall is not required to be placed within range; only within LoS. The first wall placed is not taken into account when determining LoS to the second wall.  Thus the first wall cannot block LoS to, and prevent placing, a second wall"
I can take the fun out of anything. It's true; here, look at this spreadsheet.

Quite right, Kich - yeah, that's what I meant.
Thanks for the correction as it was unclear (a quick read of new FAQ would reveal what I meant)
Note to self: do not post on the way to work (2:49am = 8.49am GMT) as you will make mistakes!
