Not sure if I missed it in the rulebook, but my friend and I were wondering how many creatures/spells are allowed in a single zone? The space has enough room for 6 cards, so that's how we've been playing it thus far...
-
There is no limit to the ammount of cards allowed in a zone, unless the card says "zone exclusive". There can be only 1 zone exclusive card in a zone at a time. Pg 21 in the rules

Good on you for including the reference page.
As a point of interest, I often find that I am playing with, like, 10 cards in a zone between my stuff an an opponent's stuff. It's to the point that I'm about to embark on a project to create a board to better accommodate our playstyle. An exact replica, but on a vinyl sheet I can roll up that measures in the neighborhood of 3' x 3.5'.

Thanks for the replies guys. My friend will be happy to hear this but I can't say I am. I'm not looking forward to managing that many cards in small confines.
Anyway, good to know either way!

Colored card sleeves don't fix the problembut they do help keep stuff, somewhat, visually organized.

Correct. I do find over 8 and thing start to become cluttered.

We decided to not set absolute limits, because zone attacks and spells will automatically discourage people from stacking.
There are plenty of upcoming spells that will further discourage zone stacking:
[ul]
[li]The Earth Elemental's Quake Stomp attack [/li]
[li]Boltstorm McFaddin's Dwarven Gatling Crossbow[/li]
[li]The Beastmaster's giant skunk with his zone-wide gas attack! [/li]
[li]The Warlord's attack spell Hail of Stones[/li]
[li]The Forcemaster's zone-wide Mass Sleep spell[/li]
[/ul]

DROOOOOOL!!! :woohoo:

Love it! <3

Ha! Glad you like it. Its both comical and deadly!
The skunk is legendary, and his current playtest name is Rafain. If anyone wants to make a better suggestion, we'll go with the coolest name!

Still in testing but looking better with each wave of tests

I hope it would not be too comical - just a little more than Ferret on a battlefield :)
I don't have idea for a name - Rafain is good. If you want, you can call him Gewar :D
-
Not comical as in a silly, cartoonish creature. Everything is Mage Wars is serious and realistic. His claws are a pretty decent secondary weapon, and he is a real threat to the enemy.
I just meant comical in the sense of spraying the entire zone with his poison gas!
Gewar is cool!

Glad to hear that.
And it would be so very cool for me to have a skunk named Gewar :D

Here are a few ideas:
Nefox (or Nephox)
Noxio
Oscuda
-
Awesome! This will be interesting. I promise we will use one of the names suggested in this forum thread.
-
Sweet, that sounds fun :)
-
Now I want Pepé Le Pew & Penelope Pussycat.

Those may infact be unusable for some reason. :P

Looks like we are going to go with Oscuda! :)

[li]Boltstorm McFaddin's Dwarven Gatling Crossbow[/li]
[/ul]
Im late to this party, but this could be the best named card in all of gaming.
-
Ha! Thanks! :)

Kickass! Can't wait to see the card! :D
It's cool that you guys are so open.
-
What do you think?! :)

That's awesome. It would be funny if there was also a chance for each enemy to run away 1 zone in a random direction...
-
I'm liking it

So awesome!

Cool (too bad, it is not Gewar :P).
It will be nice addition to Beasmaster's Charge Deck - after charge, your creatures will be safer in the following Round.
